Right so heres my story so far...
Been intrested in D&D for ages so i brought the players hand book probs gunna be playing with my uncle and dad (they've never played either) so I read a whole load of articles and stuff and got the dice etc and starting reading the PHv3.5 I went over most of it and have used the index and glossary but i still have the following problems with my character sheet they are:
What do i put in the "nonlethal damage" box?
what goes in the "TOUCH" box?
what goes in the magic modifier?
I have no idea what my Misc modifier is, do you?
I dont know my ability modifier or skill modifier.
I have no idea how to find my spell resistance.
I dont know what special abilities im suppose to have
I have no idea what to put in all six Load related box's

Umm i think thats it. If you can please answer it would be a great help. if your wondering my characters class etc ill scan in my sheets A.S.A.P and write the basics now.

I am a Level 1 rogue called Bell, she is medium size age 17 height 4'6" weight 95lb eyes red, hair brown, skin white, she is a human with a chaotic nuetral Alignment, deity- Oli
HP- 9
AC-15
Flat footed- 15
Speed- 30
Base attack bonus- 0
STR 15 +2
DEX 16 +3
CON 12 +1
INT 12 +1
WIS 13 +1
CHA 11 +0
She is carrying a short sword, a short bow, gauntlet,Leather armor, a grappling hook, hooded lantern, 3 pints of oil, theives tools, flint and steel, rope (hempen) back pack, 2 ration trail, bed roll, travellers outfit.
Her feats are Toughness and point blank shot.
I assume i have no special abilties as the books says "Special Abilities: On ataining the 10th level and at every three level thereafter". I would also be gratful if some one could tell me if those stats are good or bad.

What do i put in the "nonlethal damage" box?

When someone deal you nonlethal damage during game, you write that damage here

what goes in the "TOUCH" box?

It refer to your "touch AC". It is your AC without considering the "natural armor bonus", the "armor bonus" and the "shield bonus"

what goes in the magic modifier?

Where? Under which part of the sheet? Weapon? Armor? Abilities?
There are so much places where a magic modifier can be applied that it is impossible to help you
For instance, if you're talking abut the "SAVING THROWS" you write there any "magical bonus" that you can have because of some magic items you own. You usually start without any such item

I have no idea what my Misc modifier is, do you?

All the bonus that are not included before. You usually start without any, but you can find or buy during game, or obtain that by level advancement or other in game issues
For instance, if you play an elf, you'll have a "+2 racial bonus" to "spot, hear and search skills"

I dont know my ability modifier or skill modifier.

You'll find the ability modifier on the PHB at the very beginning, where it describe every single ability, page 8 of the manual
For instance, "dexterity 12" give you a +1 dexterity modifiers, that means every ability based on dexterity (like move silently) will have +1 modifer, reflex save will have +1 modifier, Normal and touch AC will have +1 modifier, and so on for all things that the rules say are related to "dexterity modifier"

I have no idea how to find my spell resistance.

Usually you don't have it unless you play a special race or you have a special item that give you spell resistence

I dont know what special abilities im suppose to have

It depends on your class and race. Rogue, at first level, have the spelcial ability to be able to search for traps that have a difficulty check greater than 20, elves have the "low light vision" and so on

I have no idea what to put in all six Load related box's

You'll find explanation of that in the chapter nine, page 161

Hope this helped

I hope your still feeling generous because I am a new player with some questions also.

I just started my first character. A chaotic neutral Drow Fighter Named Volorn Argith.
His stats are:
STR 16 +3 HP:12 AC:17
DEX 17 +3 FEATS: Power Attack, Weapon focus(greatsword)
CON 15 +2 Speed :30
INT 13 +1 Gear: greatsword and scalemail
WIS 12 +1
CHA 9 -1
I have a question about the drow racial class. It says in the "Drow of the Underdark" that in order to avoid taking the +2 level adjustment I can take the drow racial class with my regular class. Taking the racial class would give me drow abilities every couple levels rather then from the get go.

However it is pretty vague as to if when I level up, every so often, I level up in my racial class also or if I have to multiclass in my racial class to gain levels and abilities for drow.

Also I took the ride and handle animal skills. What would I need to do to ride a spider and when would I need to do it during a game. I eventually want to ride one in combat and there are drow specific abilities that help me ride vermin like spiders.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Alacard
to take the levels of Drow, it is like multiclassing. you actually take a level of Drow instead of fighter. also you decide when to do this. Check with your DM about if you need to take your first level as Drow or not. then you could wait for a few levels before taking your second level of Drow, taking fighter instead.
Hope this helps.
