| Thronus01-26-06, 01:06 AM | During a recent session, some members of my group got into a heated discussion about how different characters would fare in a gladiator's arena-type setting: just one PC vs. another PC. Let's say you have 105,000 XP and the gold pieces for that character level to play with. What would your best build be to survive in the arena? |
| Seeker9501-26-06, 12:03 PM | Level 1 aristocrat spectator. Practically guaranteed survival. |
| lugnut7101-26-06, 12:09 PM | Whatever level 1 human commoner. Less likely to get stabbed by a jealous rival. Although if you 10,000 gold you will probably get robbed. |
| Kresalak01-26-06, 01:05 PM | What classes do your opponents have? What resources (books) do you have? |
| Raven Dark01-26-06, 01:24 PM | What would your best build be to survive in the arena? Pun-pun. :P |
| Board_Rider01-26-06, 02:11 PM | The Warlock is a very compelling thought because of the massive acid damage he can cause every round with a touch attack. A Paladin is nice because of his Dragon Mount at level 20. Dueling always depends on attributes, feats and item selection. Depending on how well the PC is "built" will determine success. |
| Mysk01-26-06, 08:54 PM | dibs on the level 5 kobald turned overdiety! (what was it a kobald//divine minion-master of many forms something another?) failing that a monk is very capable in one of those arena types where you go in with nothing and weapons and armor are scattered to be donned on. Sign me up for the Feral/Half-Minotaur/Winged/Saint VOP Monk 9 Choose Rapidstrike... Flying feats... uh... hm. Was never sure wether feral granted the pouce ability by virtue of racial hit dice or class hit dice, i'll assume the later and say I'm a furred flying brute that landed on you and flurried with natural attacks and bab goodness. ... It works I swear! |
