Owlperson2007 11-11-07, 08:51 AM	Magic the Gathering has a lot of different portraits on the Gatherer database. At a pinch you could use those; they have most of the standard fantasy races available.
Rogue Elendae 11-11-07, 06:41 PM	So, are you just looking for places where you can find fantasy-type art and print pictures for appropriate characters? As in "this looks like X player's Elf Wizard, this looks like that NPC" etc.? I'm assuming this is the case, since you mentioned DeviantArt... There's also Media Miner, and a whole lot of other places, if you Google it up. Also, try doing an image search with Google; you might find what you're looking for if you're kind of specific (don't put in "fantasy art" as your search words, in other words. Try something more like "female elf thief" or something, for example), and are willing to weed out the junk. I've known people who used M:tG or L5R cards to represent their characters, or if you're desperate (since I'm assuming you're not an artist, if you're looking for portrait images instead of drawing them), you could temporarily just write down some notes about the character's general looks...it's a good stop-gap measure until you can find what you really want. And there's always retooling magazine pictures (Photoshop and a little work can do wonders, or even a little tracing paper and some time and patience), if you're so inclined. Just to give you some options.

I provide link to the awesome! http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heroMachine2/heromachine2.asp It's kinda like a clipart sort of thing, but you can do all manner of different layering and stuff on it.
Mad_Jack 12-12-07, 02:31 PM	Go to the Neverwinter Nights site at http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Portraits.List - you can download pictures that the NWN community has thrown together for character portraits in the NWN games... They are however, specifically sized for the proper dimensions to be used as portraits onscreen, so they may be a bit small to be printed out. They're almost all from-the-waist-up or headshots. Most of them are in .tga format, but they're usually posted as zip files, though, and quite a few of the posters are nice enough to include the original unmodified jpeg pic they started from. You can find a lot of good fantasy artists work there, such as Louis Royo and Boris Vallejo/Julie Bell... If you're looking for something specific, let me know - I have about 19 mb worth of fantasy art pics in a file on my puter, and may be able to hook ya up with something...
