I don't know if this is the right place for this, but someone can move it if they think otherwise...

I recently reinstalled my HD, so I had to redownload the Adobe Acrobat Reader for various documents including the updated char sheet from the wizards site (the one that has the skills filled in for you). Well now when I print it, the text below the basic info (name, hair, eyes, religion, etc) wont print. The lines do, but not the titles. When I look at the print screen, the text does not appear there either, but everything else does. Any ideas?

Are you talking about this (http://wizards.com/dnd/files/PHB_v35_charsheet.zip) sheet?

I have Adove Acrobat Professional 6.0 and it seems to work fine for me. Did you try removing and reinstalling Reader?

That appears to be 3.5...this is 3.0 and I had no problems before reinstalling my HD. I have reinstalled Adobe twice AND reDLed the character sheet file. It's really odd...the text appears on the file screen, but not the print screen, nor the actual printed sheet.

Ahh must have been this one (http://wizards.com/dnd/files/DnDCharacterSheet.zip).

If you look at the properties of the problem areas and try and make chanes you will get an error informing you that it can't extract the embedded Arial font. I'd say that the sheet is more than likely choking on Acrobat 6. You could always revert to Acrobat 5, or get a new sheet :/

Afraid I'm not completely up on working with embedded fonts in Acrobat. Sorry, good luck though.

Thanx Temp

I was able to get 5.0 off the acrobat site, and that solved the problem.

Your absolutely welcome, though have you considered using Heroforge (http://home.san.rr.com/blackbart/main.html) or the Singin Sheet (http://home.earthlink.net/~aaron_tasier/D&D_3_5_Automated_Character_Sheet-v5_2_0.pdf) to do your chars? I find them invaluable in creating sheets with haste.

Thanx again. I don't have Excel, but I will take a look at the .pdf. Looks pretty cool from first glance.

Just some things to keep in mind about the Singin' Sheet:

It doesn't factor in Movement modifiers to some skills (such as jump) so you'll need to manually put them in.
It doesn't seem to add racial modifiers to skills (though always in effect synergy bonus' are there).
You'll need to modify the AC formula for Flat Footed if you have the Evasion ability as it always tries to take away dex.
If you don't have Acrobat Professional, you can't really save your sheet. You have to email it to yourself or print it.
Doesn't factor in racial bonus' to hit with certain weapons (eg thrown weapons with halflings).
Limited space for spells and no place for Familair or Companion.

Well that's about it. Other than those small issues, it's a fantastic little sheet. Far more simple than Heroforge, but advanced enough for most purposes.
