Hello. I went to stay with my cousin in Europe last year and we played a roleplaying board game with his friend, and well, it was awesome. We started talking about how we should start getting into D&D because it's a lot like that board game and it's most likely a lot better too. So when I got back to Canada I decided I was going to buy the D&D rulebooks, and I get the 3 books and then bam. I realize everyone I know in Canada is a moron and I can't make a decent conversation with anyone, much less play D&D. I tried playing my first game with them anyway, which, to no surprise, ended in the whole group dieing in Pleasure Palace while trying to rape everyone. So, I decided I was gonna try to go to those library groups who play like every weekend or whatever, but none of my local libraries have those kinds of groups. Next I tried to go on "forum D&D" which ended up with us losing 1 guy because he completely forgot he even went on that website suddenly and another guy who took weeks to post something. Since then I've been playing by myself. For about 4 months now. It's getting pretty gay. Does anyone maybe know of some chatroom to play D&D on? So everyone is hopefully obligated to stay the entire game and to not go on vacation for a month while in the middle of a battle against some 50 headed dragon? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use OpenRPG. (http://www.openrpg.com) My gaming partners live on the other side of the continent from me (I'm in Alberta, they're in Ontario and Nova Scotia) and we have a rich and rewarding once-a-week game going there. I've also gamed in pick-up sessions there, and have played in prolonged campaigns with a DM in England (with players from Ontario, Germany, Scotland, and France) using it.

You won't be disappointed.
