Sorry if this is a repost, search is down, blahblahblah yadda yadda

Ever heard of Christian RPGs? If not, I'd like to share with you the fruits of some research I did when I got curious about the idea:

Holy Lands: The Dark Ages (http://www.holylands.net/)

This, from what I can tell, is the most cohesive and documented pen & paper Christian RPG out there. They have an actual players handbook or manual you can buy, character sheets and book of monsters.

The premise? Go to the site to learn more, but the basic jist is that Holy Lands takes place in Medieval Europe (so the Bible can be used in a sensical way) and rather than PLAYING a sorcerer/wizard, you FIGHT them (although it looks like you can have "spells", you just call them "miracles" with charges). Your job is to defend the church or realm from evil (such as them).

And please, please, please order the free demo CD (http://www.holylands.net/cd.htm). It is quite funny (though not as offensive as I'd hoped) especially the "Holy Lands as a ministry" section of the CD where they say "Holy Lands" is different from other RPGs "because it is grounded in morality, unlike other similar games on the market elsewhere" (Not at all ver batim). I got my CD in about 2 days.

If you know of any other good Christian RPGs, let me know. I'm strangely fascinated by them.

I –REFUSE- to play any “Christian” RPG unless you can do the following:

-Fight in an arena with lions.
-Kill giants with a sling.
-Walk on water.
-Fight off an army with the jawbone of an ass.
-Lose 8 points of STR if you cut your hair.
-Have a Burning Bush familiar.
-Can live to be 500 years old.
-Survive the Great Flood.
-Have an evil half-brother who wants to kill you.
-Get to do transcontinental travel inside of a whale.
-Wrestle Satan.
-Have the “slice off ear” feat.
-Get EXP for smashing up banks.
-Have a “palm tree climbing” skill.

In addition, there MUST be a “Sodom and Gomorrah” adventure outlined in the back.

I mean, if you’re going to make a religion inspired RPG, it’s gotta be done RIGHT.

CLASSIC! I'm LMTO (laughing my tongue off or laughing my throat out if you want a version that actually makes sense)

We have a policy against advertising commercial sites, so this isn't really allowed. (Of course, if this were a thread devoted to discussing Christianity itself, that would be off-topic and not allowed, either. Let's all go back to arguing about wizards vs. sorcerers! :) )
