| The Livewire05-03-07, 07:39 AM | Does anyone know if his stories, especially Averoigne, are in the public domain? |
| Seeker9505-03-07, 09:56 AM | Unlikely. The first Averoigne story was written in 1930, excluding it from the first criteria for public domain of copyright materials: The work was created and first published before January 1, 1923, or at least 95 years before January 1 of the current year, whichever is later; Clark Ashton Smith died in 1961, excluding the public domain of copyrighted material criteria for all of his works published after 1923. The last surviving author died at least 70 years before January 1 of the current year; His work will enter public domain in 2031, if copyright law does not change. |
| okaynowa05-03-07, 01:33 PM | While you're waiting for him, you could always bide your time with J. Sheridan Le Fanu (http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/authors/l#a272)... |
