| Arcainite07-12-07, 12:59 AM | Ok, I died tonight. I did great in the mod, but we were only 4 and in the last stage of the final battle which we had to retreat from, I died waiting for the person to get us out of there with the teleport stone right beside them. Fortunately, they touched me and I was able to be reincarnated. This would be in the Living Greyhawk campaign if it matters. I was Oeridian Human Favored Soul 5 and came back as a Mtn. Dwarf Favored Soul 4. This part is clear. What is not so clear is...under the PHB, it says dwarves have an innate Stonecunning ability. So I gain this ability correct? What happens to my 5th level favored soul Energy Resistance? It says I keep my class abilities, skills, feats, base attack bonus, base saving throws (before stat mods), etc. But with my new Constitution do I gain the extra HP for all levels or do I have exactly the same HP? Do I still know the same # of spells and just can't cast as many or do I forget the last first level spell taken? Reincarnation is a sticky thing. But it beats staying dead. |

| Arcainite07-12-07, 02:02 PM | Yes. Gone. Until you regain the level. New Con applies. Anything you gained with that 5th level is gone. Including new spells known. Thank you for your help! It's really nice not having to lose any charisma when you get reincarnated into a dwarf and also being a mountain dwarf means I can pretty much use everything I had before (except probably clothes), because they are the tallest type of dwarf. Also, my skills stay right? Or do I lose skill points from the level loss? |
| Seeker9507-12-07, 04:36 PM | Technically, you lose the skill points when you lose the level. However, I am of the "keep it simple, silly" school of thought that views such adjustments as unnecessarily micromanagerial. |
