There is no way, in the BoED that i can see, how to get access to the Herald domin, not even the Emisary of Bachariel gives you a prestige domain. However, here is a way one could.

At first level take Servant of the HEavans, wiht Bachariel as your patron, and have a LG deity, like maybe Heroneous. And ask DM if he will allow you to take the HErald domin by the fact that you are one of Heroinuous' 'heralds" as the Celestial Patrons often deal with deities to bestow domains upon those who serve them. I would allow this. If you were lawful Good.

Celestial Paragons do not grant spells, and do not take worshipers, they disuade them infact.

Another way to do it, is similar to the first, except its at a later level, taking a Prestige Class that gives you a prestige doain, and take Herald as that domain. Id still retquire Servant of Hthe Heavans.

04-29-04, 03:49 AM You don't need prestige domains. The domains are presented as standard domains. This is specifically mentioned with regard to the Community and Glory domains, which were previously listed as prestige domains in Defenders of the Faith. I assume that the "Deities" entry of the new domains includes tome archons because of the option to make them demigods (see page 123).

In mechanical terms you'll need to be one of those clerics who doesn't have a particular deity to take the Herald domain, so you can pick any other domain that your alignment allows.

For character purposes, you can call Barachiel your patron, pick a matching alignment (LN, LG, or NG) and take the appropriate domains (like Lysen_Gaiden, I suggest Law or Good as the other domain; Good, Herald, and Law are the domains from which Barachiel himself can cast clerical spells). If you ever directly communicate with Barachiel, you'll probably find out that he likes you, but that your spells aren't granted by him.
