| Return of the Flumph02-02-07, 09:59 PM | What exactly is it? |
| TheChilliGod02-02-07, 10:05 PM | Why, Pun-Pun is a-- Oh, wait. You mean CoDzilla. As far as I know, the CoD bit means "Cleric or Druid". Zilla is there to make fun of godzilla. Basically, it's the answer to any DM out there that thinks that anything that isn't core is broken. You play a cleric or a druid, and pick the really good combat spells and make sure to wild shape into giant bears and stuff. Then you go out, kick everyone's ass, and make the DM cry because you're too powerful. I think then it's usually followed with a hammergun or something. But that could just be me. |
| Ziggy_Stardust02-02-07, 11:55 PM | I thought stupid players got a chair and the GM got the hammergun? |
| Tyler Do'Urden02-03-07, 12:46 AM | When all you have is a hammergun, every problem looks like a nail that's over there. |
| TheChilliGod02-03-07, 12:46 AM | I was acting under the assumption that the DM would be receiving the wrong end of the hammergun, for being a follower of the Church of OMG-Anything-That-Isn't-From-The-Core-3-Is-Uber-Broken-And-Only- Munchkins-Would-Use-Something-Noncore-Like-Complete-Warrior. Note that players from the Church of WTF-You-Aren't-Allowing-Core-This-Game-Sucks-Cuz-I-Can't-Play-My- Half-Dragon-Half-Ogre-War-Hulk-Hulking-Hurler-With-Items-I-Made-Which-Give-Me-Rediculous-Bonuses- You're-A-Terrible-DM are probably just as bad. Those players can get the chair. |
| ZombieDragon02-03-07, 12:52 AM | By gun or by chair their epitaph will read ‘I can’t believe they acted like a steve’. |
| Archangel_James02-03-07, 01:39 AM | Could you edit your post with a return key or two, Chilli? When all you have is a hammergun, every problem looks like a nail that's over there.Did you come up with that? It's clever and I'm sigging it! :dancin: |
| Tyler Do'Urden02-03-07, 01:49 AM | I think last time I posted that line, it was "way over there" rather than just "over there." |
| Leo02-03-07, 08:29 PM | Smart DM's have no problem whatsoever about stating that your "overpowered" CoDzilla just lost all his powers due to too much arrogance and make them look even worst than a fallen nonblackguard paladin. |
| Ace_of_Diamonds02-03-07, 08:42 PM | Strange about clerics being very powerful. I've always done clerics, whether in the few games I actually played or as a dreaded DMPC (no one wanted to be a healer so I had a cleric NPC follow them around), and I always felt like I was the weakest party member. Then again I probably cut my power level in half by refusing to engage in toe to toe combat and wear very much armor on principle, not even going for feats like Vow of Nonviolence from BoED. |

Because that makes so much sense in-game and isn't metagamey at all. |
| Khael02-04-07, 04:50 PM | Smart DM's have no problem whatsoever about stating that your "overpowered" CoDzilla just lost all his powers due to too much arrogance and make them look even worst than a fallen nonblackguard paladin. Wait so if I was for example, a cleric of Heironeous, Kord or any other warrior god, you would penalise me for playing to my gods liking, as a holy warrior bringing the fight to the enemy? Ooookay. And...druids don't have an arrogance clause anyway... not that the able to turn into the biggest baddest animal (sort of the point of being able to turn into animals in the first place) would trigger it. |
| ZombieDragon02-04-07, 04:56 PM | Seeing as the cleric needs no god whatsoever, the Dm really can't strip them of their power. Oh wait they can but then the same Dm is a bad Dm, gets no donut, and might find themselves playing by themselves at an empty table. |
| theotherdraxen02-04-07, 05:04 PM | Smart DM's have no problem whatsoever about stating that your "overpowered" CoDzilla just lost all his powers due to too much arrogance and make them look even worst than a fallen nonblackguard paladin. That's actually considered bad DMing, as per the DMG. Strange about clerics being very powerful. You don't even need BoED feats. Divine Power is enough to tank as well as the fighter, and exceeding him shouldn't be hard. |
