11-04-06, 06:22 PM If you gain a Cohort through the Leadership Feat, a Cleric for example, do you create one from scratch using the starting gold for NPC's in the DMG or do you get one from the listed NPC Clerics ?

Unless you have someone starting a cleric at the same time and wants a good excuse to "drop in", it is almost always going to be an NPC, so the DM will need to decide how much work to go into it, or if he/she just wants to grab a quickie and go with it, fleshing the rest out as needed on the run.
