Cold resistance and cold dangers? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-17-05, 02:58 PM So, if you have Cold Resistance does this render you immune to Cold Dangers as described in the DMG page 302?

Or does it simply mean that you suffer less damage from the nonlethal damage you get from exposure to extreme cold?

I cant find an answer and I would like some help??? :confused:

10-17-05, 03:04 PM Erm, well, I'm not sure. Seems sensible that though you could resist cold, there should be a breaking point. Like, absolute zero.

10-17-05, 03:09 PM I remember someone on here saying that tieflings could swim in lava as long as their head is not submerged (they have fire resist 5) but that just seems absurded to me. :rolleyes:

Maybe a character with cold resistance 5 should not be bothered with most cold dangers like frostburn, but he should be concerned with becoming a chunk of ice in a very extreme temperature, but a character with cold resistance 20 should not be bothered with this things.
