I'm about to embark on a journal of headaches and trechery, to convert the 20 level system, to a more customizable pointbuy system. It adds the beauty, fun, and general easy understanding of wizard's d20, with the customizable, and uniqueness of white-wolfs d10.

Before I go driving for a world of hurt, does any one know if such a system has aready been made, by either corperation or customer?

My vision is very basic class system, and no "levels". Can yah dig?

amen, a new 4th edition of GURPS is out and it is alot less of a head ache than 3rd try it. you might actually like it. Although GM preparation goes from 6-8 hours a week, to 12-20 hours a week, good luck

Most games with points buy systems has what you are after. I believe BESM D20 has something like this as well.
Having a sane system for buying things isnt a bad idea, rather than the random fracture between class, ability, feat and skill, and each coming from different things.

Its true that GURPS can have high prep time, though D20 has as well, though complications in play are a lot less. Particularly combat is much easier to do, IMO

There are some on the boards, here, too.

There's the Uber Generics (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=282481) thread.

And then there's my Big Point System, if someone else recalls it. I don't have my copy at work.

A few others, I think, that I cannot remember offhand.

Yep.

And I heard True D20 might also be helpful.

For d20, I second M&M or True20 (or a combination of the two).

BESM d20 has d20-style classes. Original BESM was all point-based.
