How would you go about making Conan in 3.0? The DM is letting us use Gestalt classes (for those who don't know you can take two classes and take the best of each) and I was just wondering how to approach it.

I was thinking like a Barbarian/Fighter to get the feats so that I can use the nasty fullblade (2d8, 19-20 Crit). But idk, can someone help me get started with one?

Do you want to make Conan, or do you want to make your uber fullblade character?

As for making Conan...

You may want to take a look at the Conan RPG. The editing is pretty awful, but the content is great.

How many feats do you need to use a Fullblade anyway? And why not use a Greatsword?

I want to make a Conan type character. When I think of Conan I think of Arnold in his movie rendition I suppose so I was thinking of the biggest sword possible lol. Greatsword is workable however and I really like that link you gave me Seeker. I'll look it over more tonight, could give me some ideas :)

Screw google. From now on I'm asking Seeker.

Where's the stats for Elric and Moonglum?

I doubt Conan would even have any barbarian levels. More like a fighter / theif.

As for Elric and Moonglum: he has his own heavily licensed RPG, and all the stats I could find for him are posted illegally.

Are you talking about the d20 version? I was looking at that recently and it looked interesting, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $50 on it.

This site is made by a true fan of Conan, and a fun read for 3e stats. Npc's and other characters statted up too.

The editing is poor but it does have some awsome content.

And since it is PHB, DMG and MM all in one, $50 is not that expensive (and I'll wager you can get it for less online).

Also, Mongoose have set up a scheme whereby if you have bought the original book, you get a discount off the errated second printing whenever that might be.

I used my in-store credit for it, that way it doesn't really count. ;) I prefer getting everything at my FLGS, but like Mister Mayhem said you can get it for less online (I've seen it for less than $40 online, for instance).

Now don't let the governator fool you, the character of COnan has far more depth than one might think. And the world of Hyperborea is one of great history, and could provide a long running enjoyable campaign about as well as any other setting, and along with their more interesting take on magic, could prove highly enjoyable for those of the opinion that mainstream dnd has become far too dependant on loads of magical gewgaws.
