Condolences..... [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-21-05, 11:40 AM I don't know if you've heard, but DnD artist David Sutherland III died recently ( Liver failure ).... :weep:

He was one of my favorite artists, and to tell you the truth, his illustrations in the 1E Player's Handbook are the main reason I got hooked to the game.
(Remember the famous "A paladin in Hell " illustration in the 1E PHB??)

A great loss to the DnD community..

I hearby offer my condolences to his family, and to anyone here in WotC who knew him.

07-21-05, 12:47 PM I wish Wizards of the Coast (and TSR, for that matter!) would have used him as an artist more often.

I hope his career and other interests were full for him.
