Confused: 3.0 and 3.5 [Archive] - Wizards Community

In every corner of this forum, they discuss about 3.0 and 3.5

I've played DnD for 2 years and i dont know what they mean

Can you tell me the difference between 3.0 and 3.5??

03-27-04, 04:43 PM Not a heck of a lot of difference really. 3.0 is the third edtion of the D&D rules. v3.5 is the revision of said third edition rules.

03-28-04, 09:36 AM As I read elsewhere, 3.5 was began as a printing of the D&D books with all of the 3.0 errata contained within. Due to .. er... some spirited DMs, however, the rules took a big enough twist to warrant calling it a full upgrade, but not a new edition.

3.5 has different versions of the same classes, slightly enhanced rules for each race, fixes for somethings that were considered "broken" by some people, and from what I hear has new "broken" rules of its own.

The two editions are reportedly very compatible with each other. There are pros and cons to both, and which one you use is geneally a matter of preference. Some people even advise that if you don't want to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5, you have the advantage of the System Reference Documents to fill in the new rules for you.
