10-24-03, 04:07 PM Reading the description on the Consecrate Spell feat, it says that any spell using this feat gains the [Good] descriptor. Fine. But I pose this question: what happens if you try using Consecrate Spell on a spell with the [Evil] descriptor? Does it also gain the [Good] descriptor, or do both descriptors cancel each other out?

10-26-03, 01:07 AM Interesting thought. But remember, to take any exalted feat, you have to follow a similarly rigid code of conduct as a paladin. I should think that refraining from learning/knowing evil spells ought to be one of those things that exalted characters strive for.

10-28-03, 03:34 PM True. I just had this idea of possibly sketching out an exalted necromancer (since I saw that there are finally [Good] descriptors on the Necromancy spells in BoED), and was admittedly curious about how much leeway there might be to play with.

And, thus, making the spell impossible to cast for a good cleric, as per the PHB, because it's an [Evil] spell, as well as being a [Good] spell. Also, assuming you take the logical stance that casting [Evil] spells is an evil act, casting the spell willingly makes you lose all of your exalted feats forever.

Personally, though, I'd just say that things like Consecrate Spell and Purify Spell can't be used on [Evil] spells. It's kind of silly otherwise - blasphemy as a non-evil spell? Sure...
