Does anyone here know if there is a feat/spell/or possibly class feature that lets you supplement your familiar with a construct ( I think it was small). I could've swore I read something somewhere that let you do that but can't find it. Thanks for what help you can give.

At the seventh level, with improved familiar from the DMG, you can gain a homunculus (monster manual) as a familiar.
There are some better homunculi in the complete warrior.

Yeah I know of that one sorry to not be more specific. Other then a Homunculus?

I just got to looking and I think what I read at one time was a crappy Dragon Magazine feat. They had one called Construct familiar.

Construct Familiar
[General]
Dragon #280
Your familiar is a construct rather than a living being.
Benefit: Rather than a living creature, your familiar is a magical construct,
a mechanical creature animated by magic. The arcane
spellcaster must still specify a specific animal to call as a familiar; the
familiar that appears, however, is a construct version of that creature.
See page 5 in the Monster Manual for construct special qualities.
Note that you cannot convert an existing non-construct familiar to a
construct familiar by taking this feat.

The homunculi in the complete warrior aren't pushovers like the one in the Monster manual.
