In the big universe of Neverwinter night stuff, they're a lot of thing really near (exactly the same thing for some) of the DnD (3.5) one, but my question is ; Can we use the spells, feats or other things that appear in the Neverwinter night game but doesn't in the book of DnD, IN a DnD game ?

For an example, the http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page web site offer some stuff that i'm trying to figure out, like

or

Technically, this thread probably belongs in the Digital DnD Forum a little further down the main page.

As much as I like NWN you may be able to covert the story but many of the feats should be left in the machine. Most (all?) of the feats and spells in NWN either have paper equivalents and those that don't are basically there because the computer needs them. NWN has two levels of Power Attack which is there to simplify the computer game because neither of the computer feats matches what can be done with the PnP RPG feat.

The one spell in game I really would like to know where it comes from is Shadow Shield. I loved the +5 AC, DR, and most importantly immunity to death effects all from one spell.

I actually got back into D&D after a 10-year hiatus when my housemate got the original NWN game, and I thought "hello, what's 3rd Edition?". We started playing PnP using just the book that came with the game, and what I could figure out from watching him play it (I remember spending hours trying to work out how to calculate saving throws). We liked it so much I bought the gamebooks, and well, here I am...

But enough reminiscing. To answer your question, we still use quite a lot of stuff from NWN, especially spells. Lesser Dispel and Lesser Mind Blank come to mind straight away. The only one I can remember banning outright is Isaac's Greater Missile Storm - it's more powerful than Meteor Swarm and it's only level 6! Although, if you halved either the number of missiles of the damage of each missile it would become fairly balanced, but I didn't include it because Wizards are powerful enough as they are, without giving them a high-powered direct damage spell which doesn't allow a save or require an attack roll.

Haven't seen NWN2. Is it any good?

PS What's the second spell you list? You seem to have missed the name off.

The original NWN was 3.0, not 3.5, so some feats will differ. Also they will differ in the workability of the game; on the computer you lose the fine control of a character's actions, and the feats reflect this.

That's Neverwinter's version of Awaken.

Shadow Shield shows up in some FR book or other; I think it was Magic of Faerun. NWN's version is, of course, simplified.

It can also be maximized if I remember playing NWN correctly (my compy has been in pieces on my floor for awhile now).

I would like to see the parry skill put to PnP..

I tried it once, but it just made the combat take for freaking ever...

Pretty much everything that's in neverwinter has been in a dnd sourcebook, only some skills spring to mind as exceptions, like Lore and Parry.

Issac's Greater Cheesy Storm is definately the most broken spell in NWN. The balanced PnP version is called Chain Missle and is in the SC.

May have also had its roots here (http://wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/sb/sb20020809a), somewhat, just taking into account that NWN has replaced area attacks with multi-target single attacks in the past (note Firebrand, for instance).

About include NWN spell in a DnD game
I agree to not do it, but mainly because those spells are just to powerful !
Althought they come from NWN 2, so they are all in 3.5 rule
