| Powerstatb05-14-07, 05:13 PM | I am playing in a dnd game right now and i was curious what other people thought that this encounter's CR might be. Please post your inputs on what the CR for this encounter might be. The party consists of: 20th bard 19th druid 20th paladin 19th fighter 15th fighter 19th cleric 20th monk 20th wizard 22th sorcerer/saint 22th fighter 12th paladin cohort 12th cleric cohort 12th ranger cohort The encounter starts in a 20' wide by 80' corridor. There is a door at both ends of the corridor. The end door is trapped and the floor caves in. There is a 60' drop onto harpoons. The harpoons pin you if a reflex check of dc 15 is failed. There is 3' of water initially. As soon as the trap is set off water pours in filling the corridor at a rate of 10'/round*. 12 skrags with 6 levels of fighter drop down next to the party on the harpoons and get an ambush. The round following setting off the trap the top closes and a side entrance opens 20' up one of the walls. The whole area is a no magic zone meaning spells do not work here as well as magic items. The saint is immune to the no magic and is the only one that can cast spells in this no magic area. Since no magic works and no magic items work, the only fire availible is from alchemical sources. On top of the ledge is a Purple worm that attacks any that appear on the ledge, but starts off 100' away from the edge of the ledge. My apologizes. The area prevents all teleportation like spells except gate and teleportation circle. The saint is not immune to this effect. The saint to be more precise is 15 sorcerer/5 cleric/2 saint. Sorry for the error. Also. i think there are too many people cast take. *the penalty for fighting underwater is -2hit/half damage What would you count the CR for this encounter? |
| HairyApe05-14-07, 05:33 PM | If the sorceror/saint knows teleport (he alone can cast), then this should be a non-encounter. Even if he fails a dc 15 ref. at 22nd level, its a DC 20 to cast while pinned. The others just need to go all kumbaya and hold hands while he casts. |
| Upper_Krust05-14-07, 05:35 PM | Hey there! :) CR 27 - however, as the Saint is unaffected by Anti-magic perhaps slightly less. I would treat it as an EL +3 encounter or thereabouts. |
