What is the CR for an NPC with standard class levels? A 1st level human fighter gives how many XP to a PC who kill him?

CR = Character Level for NPCs.
Not an absolute, but a fair guesstimate.

The people will correct me, but the general guideline should be like this:
1. NPC with character levels; CR = level
2. NPC with NPC class levels; CR = level -1
3. NPC with monster HD (monster based); CR = monster's CR
4. NPC monster based, advanced, templated, with character levels;
CR = monster's CR, +1 CR per every 2 HD of advancement, + CR listed in template, +1 CR for every character level

In theory, yes, but the way I've seen it go is this:

NPC w/ PC class/PrC levels: CR=level-1
NPC w/ NPC class levels only: CR=level-2
Monster NPC: CR=(Monster's CR)+levels-1

The only exception I might make is for the druid, but other than that, the classed NPC will be totally pwned by the PCs in straight combat.

You can adjust the EL of the encounter by modifying the circumstances of the battle to favor the NPC (as any prepared NPC of Int 12 or higher will put significant effort into), but the CR is a little lower than level, IMO.

Of course they will be pwned, so will the monsters.
The npc is only supposed to drain 20% of there resourses. just like the monster.
