A couple of months ago... and wondering where the person who posted it, got this from. Anyone know?

02-21-06, 05:04 AM So, when you double the size of the party, you ought to have to double the number of monsters for the fight to remain fair. Doubling the number of monsters increases the EL by 2, so an 8-person party has an EL of +2.

Similarly, increasing the number of monsters by 50% increases the EL by 1, so a 6-person party has an EL of +1.

etc., etc.

02-21-06, 12:10 PM Not too shabby for a hard and fast rule. I would also add a +1 to a PCs CR/ Party ECL when they use anything above a 28 point buy. But thats me.
