Craziest Magical Items [Archive] - Wizards Community

Be it the nose amulet that fires acid from the nostrals or the stuffed rat that lets you use the spell summon monster like a wizard, but only summons rats. Create it!

Stormbringer (Stormy, to his friends, little pointed-eared SOB to everyone else) designed and built a cross between a shuriken and a boomerang. You can already see where this is going... So he built the thing cleverly as a disc with blades that would fly outward with centrifugal force while in flight, allowing him to carry them safely on his person without cutting himself. The blades were permanently sharpened to an unbelieveable degree, and he even had the things enchanted to fly on their course, slice the enemy, then extract themselves and fly back to him. Guess which little detail he left out?

Yep, he never enchanted the blades to retract on their return flight.

The good news is that the Cleric was able to reattach all of Stormy's fingers. The bad news is that Uffy, the psychotic wizard who has lived since 1989 RW time, has since improved on the thing and given it to the drow.

06-27-07, 11:27 PM I think the craziest magical item is a small, sphere shaped, blood red ruby.The ruby is about the size of the tab on the top of a pop can used to open it. Anyone can use this item but they must have I.Q score of over 18, and must make an I.Q check and get over a 20 before secsesful usage of item. what it does is copies spells. How it does that, is when you see anyone cast a spell you hold it up within a thirty foot radius. Then mutter a small command word in orc toung. It captures a small light then the light quiqly dissapears from view. You can use this captured spell to cast upon anything exept orcs, because the rubys creator was an orc himself. the spells proporoties then disapear from the ruby and you must go through the same processe if you want to use this spell again. You may only hold up to five spells at once in the ruby none of witch can be the same. You may capture any spells but must be the same caster level or lower to use or capture the spell. When some one finds the shpere there emblem apears on it and only they can ever wield the power of that ruby. Because there is only one sphere it is called the Lone Eye. It alsow got its name because some say when it first absorbes a spell it looks like a blinking dragons eye.

+2 Composite Longbow that can accomodate a user of any strength that shoots 2d6 force effect arrows (but can still use regular arrows just fine!) and has some kind of wierd ranged power attack built right into the bow itself!

22,600 gp.
