Hi everybody.

I need some help.

My group started a new Campaingn on a world created of our DM last month. Im playing a Dwarf and Im coming from a huge dwarven kingdome. It has 60.000 (!) dwarves as its inhabitants and the DM said: If you want to come from somewhere special, creat your own part of the world. I said I want to build up this City or Castle or so.

I know, that a little bit less information, but feel free to suggest anything.

Some basic information:

Huge city with 60.000 inhabitants.
Its under a big mountain chain and the main body is in the west of this mointains. Its the border between a human kingdome in the west and orcland in the east. No one else except the dwarfves know how big the city really is. The normal alignment is LG and LN

Thats it for now.

Any suggestions would be wonderful.
Maybe one of you can give me som information about some books, in which to find some rules for that.

thanks

dwarfs that live in/under a mountain...

How about an entire dwarven city that controls a main shipping dock. Very few better ways to become a center of comerse than to have a strangle hold on imported and exported goods.

Stress the law parts of the civilization instead of the "good" or the "neutral" have them almost fanatical about crime and upholding the law. Heck have a mountain range to the back of the city and have them use it as a prision for the Lawbreakers and have the dwarves themselves hate being underground.

Sorry this goes agasint seekers law but sometimes the wheel is boring and you want to take a plane ride

Sorry this goes against seekers law but sometimes the wheel is boring and you want to take a plane rideIt doesn't go against my law at all. You want a plane ride. A wheel won't work.

Hmm,

the dwarves hate to be underground? thats the complete other direction. the problem is, that the dwarves are known for their big halls and mastery stone- and metalwork and on this world, they are living theier for almost up to 10.000 years. its a very strange thought, that the dwarves want out of their kindome, but I try to think about that.

I like the idea of the main shipping dock, but the problem is, that there is no sea around and at the moment Im thinking about the idea of a secret underground sea with a wide spread system of underground lakes or so.

Damn, I dont have the map of the world. My DM drawed it with ink, maybe I can scan it and load it up for here.

thx for help at this point

ah, thats so much to think about
