Our group has recently had some problems with creatures with regeneration that have necessitated some interesting ways of killing them, since we didn't have the actual weapons needed to bypass it. It got me thinking about other creative ways to kill a creature with regeneration without bypassing it. Here's what we came up with.

Drowning. Regeneration specifically says it does not affect things like starvation or drowning, and I believe that the drowning rules say that an unconscious creature begins drowning immediately when placed in water.

Wounding weapons. Just keep nicking that con score down, they'll die eventually. Not helpful for undead and constructs (though I can't think of any with regen).

So what are your ideas?

There are no Undead or Constructs with regen since you need a CON score for regeneration to work. (They can have fast healing though). Therefore wounding weapons work great against regenerating foes. As do Death spells and Disintigrate spells (except against the Tarresque).

A backpack stuffed with vials of acid and alchemists fire can work wonders, but be careful carrying it ...:D

There is one exception - the atropal from the ELH, though that is a high lv epic foe and unlikely to factor into your game.

Baleful polymorph could work (since it loses the extraordinary abilities of its previous form), though it might not be as effective since it forces a fort save, and most foes with regen tend to have good fort saves and/or con scores.
