boyecho 08-23-04, 03:18 AM	first off, i apologise if this doesn't fit in this forum. couldnt think of anything else except the monstermanual? anyway.... is there any possible way, in dungeons and dragons, to 'cure' someone of vampireism? this person was formally human, bit by another vampire. this person destroyed the vampire that bit him, and is now looking for a cure. is it possible? if so, how? i'd love any information i can get.
Bantam 08-23-04, 03:23 AM	I thought in DnD the vampire would have to kill a character of at least 5 HD before the character will become a vampire? Hmm maybe kill the character and True Ressurect him? A Wish spell?
boyecho 08-23-04, 03:36 AM	sorry about not clarifying. the character was turned into a vampire pretty by the books i guess, i was out of the campaign at that time. but he's much more than 5 hd. we've all speculated about killing then true resurrecting, as well as miracle/wish. but the dm wants something more than that [more as in style or rules by the book rather than just a 'really powerful spell™'.] if we're going to be trying to undo something of such proportion.
Seeker95 08-23-04, 10:44 AM	The Cure: Kill the vampire. Then raise dead. The Story: Require that the body be transported to a Temple of (insert favorite deity) where it must lie immersed in holy water for a full lunar month, during which time it will be cleansed of all impurities. At the end of a month, the body is raised (by whichever spell you want).
Fi'Irdray 08-23-04, 07:35 PM	well, in one vampire book I read (not d20) it said that if a vampire moves to a country where they don't speak his native language, and lives there for 7 years w/o being discovered as a vampire, they can become human again
