CUstom Dungeon Tiles? [Archive] - Wizards Community

All that said, has anyone made custom Dungeon Tiles (or Galaxy Tiles) people can print for their RPGs? I just bought several of the official releases but my greedy nature and the needs of my campaign have not yet been satisfied... I NEED MORE!

02-11-08, 11:05 PM By dungeon tiles, I assume you're talking about the small, maybe 8x8 maps that WotC sells for use in setting up battlemaps/dungeons. If you want a nice legal source of battlemaps, check out the various maps posted on the dunjinni boards. You can download a map pic that someone has made and posted, then print it out and use it. If it's something that you like, I'd recommend printing it out on cardstock, then gluing it to something like foamcore (or to cereal box cardboard if you want to save some $$) and use a razorblade or exacto knife to cut it out. That will make it look much nicer and lay flat.

If you want to spend a little bit of money (less than $20) and some time and effort, you may want to check WorldWorks Games, they do 3D cardstock terrain you can print out, cut and fold up to make incredible looking castles and dungeons. They also do "2.5D" stuff that goes together pretty quickly and gives you something that looks kind of like the dungeon tiles. The nice thing is that the only time you pay them money is when you buy the electronic files. You can print out as many copies (for yourself) as you want, so you could do up a huge dungeon for less than $20 and whatever your printer costs per page in ink (usually about 10-15 cents). They are a small company that's been hit pretty hard by piracy, but they're super responsive and have an active forum site

Yeah, I'm a member over there and have bought some... not as nice as WoTC's.

True, but if you're jonesin' rpgnow is immediate, legal gratification.

Personally, I still have my Dungeon Quest stuff and a few other old games of that type that I use.
