Ashfire 05-08-05, 04:04 PM	hi, its been quite a while since i played D7D with friends and was wondering if it is worth upgrading from the 3rd edition books to 3.5? or is 3.5 still the 3rd edition im confused :) many thanks
Arcanis the wacher 05-08-05, 04:13 PM	D7D is that a typo anyway 3.5 imo got tougher it also has more stuff like magic idems to kill the tougher monsters, and the ranger got a big upgrade, and some of the class got stuff too. so if you want more of a fight 3.5 all the way. but there are some stuff about it that is broken most of it only in combo with other stuff. well hope that helps :twocents:

Seeker95 05-08-05, 04:57 PM	I prefer 3.5 to 3.0, and recommend it to most anyone. However, if you and your gaming group are having fun with 3.0, there is no need to switch to 3.5
Mula 05-08-05, 05:59 PM	one last question, is the D&D 3rd edition and the Eberron setting compatable ? You mean 3.0? Well, Eberron Campaign Setting uses 3.5 rules, but if you for some reason decide to use 3.0 (like Seeker, I prefer 3.5), it won't be a real problem.

anarco_rata 05-08-05, 06:29 PM	I've all corebooks of 3.0 and no money, so there's no really a choice in here, but if you have the books, like the game and don't find nothing wront with it, then 3.5 is not a priority, there're lost of other usefull books. 3.0 and 3.5 are almost the same thing, with some diferences that won't hurt your game regardless of the number to the rigth of the point. If you're about to buy a book, and geting started in D&d 3.X, then buy the 3.5, because its the latest and all the books that're coming will be working with the little different things in 3.5.
Flushmaster 05-08-05, 09:38 PM	3.5 is a revision of 3.0; it uses all of the core mechanics but tweaks and adjusts a bunch of small details. The most noticeable difference, at first glance, is that the ranger is a lot better, but there are a lot of other little tweaks. Some spells are slightly modified (duration, etc), a few feats are slightly different (like power attack now deals more extra damage if you're wielding a two handed weapon)and so forth. I like it, and just about everybody I've encountered likes it as well. You don't need it, and it isn't hard to convert material from 3.5 to 3.0 rules and vice versa, should you desire. If you have the extra cash, though, I do suggest moving to 3.5 because it's enough imporvement and streamloining to be worth it (in my opinion).
