| Lyrous04-12-08, 04:20 PM | I've been playing dungeons and dragons for several years now and I got my sister into it. Today she is marrying another guy that we've played D&D with for a long time. For everyone who doubts D&D and still thinks it is the "devil's game" this shows that D&D can bring two people together. Thanks |
| freedeath04-12-08, 04:49 PM | Yeah, my ex-wife was a gamer, too. The 'ex' part has nothing to do with gaming... |
| Seeker9504-12-08, 05:27 PM | For everyone who doubts D&D and still thinks it is the "devil's game" this shows that D&D can bring two people together. How does your sister marrying some other devil's game worshiper change the fact that it is the devil's game? |
| VulcanStormwrath04-12-08, 05:40 PM | My friend, and the Bard in the game I run, was recently quoted in the New York Times that he would never had met his wife if it weren't for D&D. |
| Spikes01k04-12-08, 08:31 PM | I meet my wife at the gaming table. We still love the game. |
| High Octane04-12-08, 09:06 PM | Then why am I still single? WWWWWWHHHHYYYYYYY???? *cries a bit* Seriously, nice to hear something positive came from this game. |

| Count Arioch the 28th04-13-08, 02:08 AM | I wish I could find love. That would rule. |
| Mock2604-13-08, 03:55 AM | Heavily armed and armored adventurers roaming around the world killing and slaughtering untold numbers of monsters and stealing their money and personal possession. Now that's romance! |
| kelvinaw27304-13-08, 06:48 AM | My ex-wife met the gaming table through me ... and forever shall I remember the day when the GM wound her up with a dream-sequence when she was seven months pregnant with our first baby, and she chased him around the house trying to kill him ... ah, happy memories! |
| Kala200004-13-08, 08:17 AM | I'm still convinced not spending time playing actually does increase the likelihood of finding love compared to spending a lot of time with D&D. |
| Lyrous04-13-08, 09:22 AM | Well, the wedding went off nicely. Only thing is that the minister said my sister's name wrong for 1/2 of it :/ Personally, I've never met love at DND but I've made very close friends and inside jokes that i'll never forget |
| kelvinaw27304-13-08, 09:27 AM | I'm still convinced not spending time playing actually does increase the likelihood of finding love compared to spending a lot of time with D&D. I suppose it depends who you are gaming with. Dynamic, mixed sex group of constantly changing members = Good Sad group of socially challenged males = Bad |
| Etarnon04-15-08, 03:53 AM | Posting on WOTC Forums until 3:53 AM = Bad. |
| sblaxman04-15-08, 11:15 AM | I wish I could get my wife into the game. She's amused that I enjoy it, but just isn't interested in it. We share all kinds of other geekage together, just not this. It's awesome to hear there are some gaming couples out there though. |

I am of the opinion that couples need to have seperate activities that they enjoy but their significant other does not enjoy. But, that's just me. |

I am of the opinion that couples need to have seperate activities that they enjoy but their significant other does not enjoy. But, that's just me. It's not just you. I completely agree. If my fiancee were to suddenly take an interest in the game, I think I'd lose my mind. Love is great. "Me" time is even better. :D |
| warwinner04-15-08, 03:18 PM | Too bad. I can't seem to find any good looking chicks at the table. Where are all the hottie supermodel type women who play d&d :D |
| Shadowhowler04-15-08, 03:55 PM | Sometimes it is better if the wife/girlfriend doesn't play. I am of the opinion that couples need to have seperate activities that they enjoy but their significant other does not enjoy. But, that's just me. Oh, I agree with this to some extent. I met my wife at a game... not D&D but a LARP Vampire game. However we both enjoy a whole bunch of games, including D&D. I'm glad we have that in common... because it's been such a HUGE part of my Free/hobby time... I would not want to spend as much time on it if she were not interisted. I wouldn't stop, but I would not want to play nearly as much. Since she dose game tho... we can both play as much as we wish (and time and life permits) and still be together, which is, for me, awesome. Also... since I moved across country and away from all my friends and gaming buds, she is the ONLY one I have found in my new home who enjoys the same style of game that I do. That being more roleplay and story intensive, and less kill it and take it's stuff. So, currently, if she didn't game, *I* would never get to anymore... cuz I could not play in a game where there was not at least ONE player to roleplay with. Ugh. We still have some interists that the other does not share tho... I'm just glad that gaming isn't one of them. |

Now that's romance!Hey, it's better than going to a movie both people dislike and spending a fortune on low-quality popcorn. And it's "together time", just as some couples would prefer shopping or hiking or something else. Whatever floats your airship. |

I am of the opinion that couples need to have seperate activities that they enjoy but their significant other does not enjoy. But, that's just me. That's what computer games are for! :D We both have our things we do, she's into maplestory (a free online game), craftwork (making things to decorate the apt or modifying her clothes), and things. I build computers, and play pc games. We have things in common (watch the daily show and adult-swim together). It's a A1 relationship, that is for sure. I do know what you mean though, if we did EVERYTHING together, it could get boring (need some time apart to do your own thing) |
| Mock2604-15-08, 06:24 PM | Just to clarify I'm not saying that someone's significant other shouldn't play D&D. If you met playing D&D or were both already into D&D then that is fine. In that case there needs to be some other activity for you that she doesn't do just as she needs some other activity that you don't do. That's all that I was saying. |
| sblaxman04-15-08, 07:38 PM | I know what you mean, no worries :D |
| GeeBee04-16-08, 07:51 AM | Love in gaming... I met my wife on a blind date, going stargazing in the local hills. I had brought a laptop with starchart software, but I had forgotten to turn off the opening sound - a Warcraft Orc belching and excusing himself. I thought I was sunk until she cried out "hey, that's from Warcraft!" Heh. She showed up at my D&D game the next week, and the guys insisted that she keep coming. We were engaged a year later. |
