| oc200101-12-04, 04:12 PM | After having read most of the rules in the PH 3.5 and seen all the variations, and rules that apply for movement and combat modifiiers..It seems fairly reasonable to expect that Wizards of the Coast would happily have some plans on the table to create a PC tools for DMs and gamers allike. I would like to see a tool that can plug in the player stats, has monster stats, and all you need is to give it the layout of the room size and add the placement of all combatants. Then the computer would referee the battle, letting the PC roll, or alternatly the DM or automatic rolls untill the encounter is completed. The players and DM would actualy controll the movements and actions of entities, but the computer would referee it. Sort of like the combat interphase in the computer game Temple of Elemental Evil. Its very well done interphase for a single player, and with some minor modifications, a like product/tool would be great for the player community. |
| Simo01-12-04, 04:45 PM | It may save some time in calculations and clarity but you still have to plug in all the stats and details. Also it would be ok for basic combats but could not take into account the more complex spells and abilities nor extraordinary combat situations. For those who spend there time H&S in fairly normal combats it may be worth it, but wouldn't do for my campaign with mounted chases, flying battles and other such encounters. |
