Don't do it, or if you do, keep to one rule system. There are similarities, but the power difference is noticeable. A D&D character could slaughter several d20 moderns of similar level, especially at the higher levels. A spell caster wouldn't even have to try. D20 modern and D20 future are similar in power, but D20 future would probably win. I would use D20 modern rules, and maybe make a spell caster class that gets a caster level once every 2 levels, and a spell level once every 6.

Easiest way to go is d20 Modern with the Urban Arcana setting, which can be modified slightly using d20 Future rules.

I would not directly integrate D&D, it will generate confusion.

yes it is. So is future.

IIRC one of the d20 modern developers ran a one shot with a modern party (SWAT team) through the return to the temple of elemental evil, they did well until they faced trolls. Unaware of regeneration they had a real hard time.

D&D + d20 Modern + d20 Future = Mongo
High tech sci fi in some areas.
Standard current world capacity in some areas.
Primitive, undeveloped world in others.
Add magic.

Mongo???Mongo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongo_%28planet%29). The world ruled by Ming the Merciless (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming_the_Merciless). Antagonist (BBEG) in the Flash Gordon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Gordon) line. You can see the most recent version in the Sci-Fi original TV series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Gordon_%282007_TV_series%29).

So I could not really have elves, dwarves, humans, gnomes, or even dragons in a sci-fi setting?

Cause the way I was thinking is that in this particualr universe, magic and technology would be working side by side. I wanted to be able to have dragons pilot starships.

I already have a couple of classes set up as well.

Why can't you have fantasy races in a Sci-Fi setting?

Hell, I have a sci-fi setting with fantasy races thanks to cosmetic genetic alterations. There are entire planets filled with humans who wanted to be "fantastic" so badly that they tampered with their own species identity and became elves, dwarves, vulcans and even klingons. However, they still get made fun of by "normal" people.

just get your hands on Urban Arcana campaign setting for the d20 modern game and use it along your d20 modern and d20 future

You might want to check the Eberron campaign setting for an Idea of magic = science

To the OP, I feel your pain. A few years back, I came up with a crazy idea for a campaign. I was going to allow all gaming systems produced by WOTC using the d20 system. That is, all in a single game. Though the story rationalization was everyone being drawn into Ravenloft, it was really because so many people in my gaming group loved the multiple systems. Yet only a minority of players liked a given system, so there were never enough players to run a consistent campaign. Thus my grand experiment.

All in all, it went beautifully. My cardinal rule was that every character responded to events according to their native rules system. So while the d20 Modern characters were firing off LAW rockets, they cringed when hit for 20 damage. Star Wars jedi were survival gods, yet whimpered in fear when they came across orcs with falchions. Heck, I even saw a Wheel of Time character for a few sessions until it died off.

About a year ago, I ran another game following the format mentioned above. Once again, it ran as smooth as silk.

My only warning to you is that you need to have a very good rules knowledge of the other systems to make such a campaign model flow smoothly. And you need to have a general agreement from your player base that they're also going to be cooperative in order in minimize confussion.

Well I want to try as much as possible to stick with both the MSRD and the SRD. I have already started to build things a bit. This is actually an idea for a video game I want to eventually design.

I already have a few classes put together, bits and pieces from the MSRD and the SRD. I still have a lot of work ahead of me. Especially when I get to the economic structure. Choosing the right skills and feats will also be a tidious task.

Thanks for all of the great thoughts and ideas. Just keep them coming. I could use all of the help I can get.
