| Demon_Paladin07-17-07, 04:57 PM | If there was a D&D energy drink what would it be called? 1) Bull's Strength any ideas? |
| Loki565407-17-07, 05:03 PM | 2) Potion of Haste |
| Kamin_Majere07-17-07, 05:05 PM | Cure Light Wounds (The most used potion of D&D):D Or you could have diffrent flavors all named something diffrent :) |
| McPoyo07-17-07, 05:05 PM | 3) Crushing Fist of Spite. |
| key07-17-07, 05:12 PM | What do you mean if? 4) Nerd Energy (http://www.nerdenergy.com/) |
| Nihzlet07-17-07, 05:18 PM | i would think Bear's Endurance would be more appropriate than Bull's Strength. i gotta say though, Crushing Fist of Spite is a hilariously awesome idea :P |
| Fireclave07-17-07, 05:21 PM | 5) A simple potion of Cure X Wounds. But as far as I know, they're only available in Japan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg9bQPoUf_4). |
| SlanderPanic07-17-07, 05:24 PM | http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/Slanderpanic/ff12potion.jpg This was sold in Japan last year to promote FF12. EDIT: Currrrse youuuu, Fireclave! |
| Demon_Paladin07-17-07, 05:30 PM | That is AWESOME. I must obtain some now. |
| Kamin_Majere07-17-07, 05:42 PM |  OMG!  I must have a Potion! I want that as bad as i want a Crystal Pepsi! |
| Manyfist07-17-07, 05:46 PM |  OMG!  I must have a Potion! I want that as bad as i want a Crystal Pepsi! Crystal Pepsi? |
| High Octane07-17-07, 05:50 PM | Crystal Pepsi? Oh silly children who are too young to remember. Pepsi released a clear drink called crystal pepsi. It wasn't bad. It was basically sprite. That was what 12, 14 years ago? Lasted like an hour. |
| Demon_Paladin07-17-07, 05:51 PM | Crystal Pepsi? The second-worst marketing campaign, next to "New" Coke. |
| Kamin_Majere07-17-07, 05:51 PM | Crystal Pepsi? [checks profile] It was probably before your time... assuming your about 19 you would have been about 3 when it was around. Pepsi came out with a drink that was clear and tasted mildly like pepsi. It was mostly sickeningly sweet and had the consistancy of watered down syrup. But i drank it when i was young and i just want it again to remember what it was like lol Call it nastalga |
| vaerdhdragonkin07-17-07, 05:58 PM | Dear gods, Crystal Pepsi . . . :yuck: |
| Rustmonster07-17-07, 06:12 PM | That potion tasted funny... It tasted like the forest floor. |
| docballen07-17-07, 07:54 PM | Yeah... it's called Mountain Dew!!!! |
| Joseph_Silver07-17-07, 08:25 PM | My D&D energy drink is called "coffee". :D |
| Ebrion07-17-07, 10:09 PM | The best D&D drink of all time : Jolt Cola |
| vaerdhdragonkin07-17-07, 10:18 PM | Vault actually has more caffeine, and tastes like Fruity Pebbles! |
| Manyfist07-17-07, 10:32 PM | [checks profile] It was probably before your time... assuming your about 19 you would have been about 3 when it was around. Pepsi came out with a drink that was clear and tasted mildly like pepsi. It was mostly sickeningly sweet and had the consistancy of watered down syrup. But i drank it when i was young and i just want it again to remember what it was like lol Call it nastalga Ah. |
| Demon_Paladin07-17-07, 11:46 PM | I like Monster, myself. Does anyone think there'd be a market for a D&D-themed energy drink. Call it "CLW". |
| blade_runner07-17-07, 11:58 PM | 1.Call it "brain oil" and sell it in a container shaped like a oil can. 2. Call it "natural 20" and sell it in a container shaped like a big d20. 3. Call it "drink of striding and springing" |
| Radiun07-18-07, 12:46 AM | "Confirmed Critical" 'Cause Nothing Feels as Good! |
| darkdragonk07-18-07, 12:52 AM | Nerderade |
| Toran_A_Sunder07-18-07, 12:59 AM | Crystal Pepsi sucked moose wackyclackers. What was the song they used for their commercials? I cant remember for the life of me but I know it was a really popular song. Tasted terrible. As far as a D&D energy drink? I wanna say Mountain Dwarf Dew, but my better judgment tells me that there's something inherently wrong with that name. However, if Mountain Dew started an ad campaign with a dwarf, an elf, and a human having a snowboard race down the side of a mountain, well that would be awesometastic. |
| Optimator07-18-07, 03:06 AM | The best D&D drink of all time : Jolt Cola I can't find it anywhere anymore... |
| Illithid0007-18-07, 04:46 AM | Best DnD energy drink: Amp |
| Kamin_Majere07-18-07, 08:04 AM | Crystal Pepsi sucked moose wackyclackers. What was the song they used for their commercials? I cant remember for the life of me but I know it was a really popular song. Tasted terrible. Van Helan's Right Now {checks} Wow theres even a Wikipedia article about the stuff... And they say Ebay has some (off to ebay) I still think Cure Light Wounds would be a great D&D inspired drink:D |
| FatSamson07-18-07, 08:22 AM |  OMG!  ...as bad as i want a Crystal Pepsi! The best part about Crystal Pepsi was the SNL spoof "Crystal Gravy." Probably would've tasted just as good. As for best drink... Despite no longer drinking pop/soda, I will always have a special place in my heart for Mountain Dew for all the all-nighters it got me and my buddies through in middle- and high-school. That, and if you hold the can upside down it looks like it says "Red Mao," and opens up any number of communist conspiracy theories at the crack of dawn... |
| trappedslider07-18-07, 10:40 AM | 2. Call it "natural 20" and sell it in a container shaped like a big d20. *would be more tempted to use it in a game than drink it* |
| Kensan_Oni07-18-07, 11:13 AM | RE: Crystal Pepsi *sniff* But I loved Crystal Pepsi... Re: Name of Energy Drink Quckling Juice. What else would a troll drink? |
| _Jayne_Cobb_07-18-07, 11:13 AM | Coffee. |
| foxtail07-18-07, 12:23 PM | If you're going to name the drink after a cure spell, call it "Cure Serious". The sugar-free version could be "Cure Light". And for extra caffine? "Cure Critical". Or, how about "Heroism"? |
| _Jayne_Cobb_07-18-07, 12:44 PM | The best D&D drink of all time : Jolt Cola Jolt Cola is terrible. Tastes like discount store-brand cola and does precisely ****-all in terms of an energy booster. |
| Violet Typhoon07-18-07, 01:23 PM | I would hope that a D&D energy drink would be something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs). I would put in a vote for different D&D-themed beverages with different flavors/ingredients. All would have plenty of caffeine, but different types would have different special ingredients, like: ~Haste: with ginseng, taurine, and B-vitamins for energy; yellow with a classic "energy drink" sour citrus flavor ~Cure Light Wounds: with vitamin C and echinacea to promote immunity to colds caught during all-night gaming sessions; probably make it blue and give it a berry flavor (maybe like Blue Pepsi, which I miss) ~Restoration: with electrolytes to promote proper hydration so you don't pass out in the middle of a session; clear with a cherry or maybe tangerine flavor In addition, they could put out a candy that contains plenty of sugar, caffeine, and other herbs, can be eaten like Pop-Rocks or dissolved into D&D Potions for added kick, and is transparent and shaped like diamonds. What do you call it? True Resurrection! |
| marcel_deathbringer07-18-07, 01:24 PM | Fresh Sea Turtle Blood |
| RedTopHat07-18-07, 01:57 PM | MinMax "Minimize your thirst, Maximize your rolls." ^^ |
| Sajek07-18-07, 02:07 PM | I heard in the Ukraine they have an energy drink called Cocaine. Supposedly it has the caffeine of five redbulls in one can. |
| Aeolius07-18-07, 02:11 PM | Diet Flumph |
| _Jayne_Cobb_07-18-07, 02:56 PM | I heard in the Ukraine they have an energy drink called Cocaine. Supposedly it has the caffeine of five redbulls in one can. Well, since Red Bull is about as effective as a glass of lukewarm tap water I am somewhat underwhelmed. |
| key07-18-07, 03:11 PM | I would hope that a D&D energy drink would be something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs). I would hope otherwise. |
| captianhowdy07-18-07, 03:16 PM | The best D&D drink of all time : Jolt Cola That drink is epic. I drink No Fear all the time, but Jolt is the only thing ive ever had that made me go crazy. And ya gotta love that its basically just coke (or dr.pepper for "cherry" flavor) with epic caffeine. |
| SlanderPanic07-18-07, 04:30 PM | I heard in the Ukraine they have an energy drink called Cocaine. Supposedly it has the caffeine of five redbulls in one can. Partially true. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine_(drink)) It's made in the US and has 3.5 times the caffeine of Red Bull. |
| Pallin Rahl07-18-07, 04:42 PM | In a d20 Modern game I once ran, there was a sports drink called: Goblinaide ...it has thereafter turned up in random taverns in the various campaigns we've played... :D --- P.S. As it's related to the topic... kinda... ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs ...gotta love it. :D |
| trappedslider07-18-07, 07:11 PM | Partially true. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine_(drink)) It's made in the US and has 3.5 times the caffeine of Red Bull. its also been pulled form the shelves because of the name... EDIT: In a d20 Modern game I once ran, there was a sports drink called: Goblinaide ITS GOBLINS! GODLINAIDE IS MADE FROM GOBLINS! (said in a charlton heston voice) sorry..i couldn't resist... |
| Demon_Paladin07-18-07, 09:49 PM | its also been pulled form the shelves because of the name... EDIT: ITS GOBLINS! GODLINAIDE IS MADE FROM GOBLINS! (said in a charlton heston voice) sorry..i couldn't resist... I gotta say, that was the biggest twist ending ever... |
| docballen07-19-07, 02:04 AM | Jolt Cola is terrible. Tastes like discount store-brand cola and does precisely ****-all in terms of an energy booster. OK back in the day... they had a slogan for Jolt Cola... "All the sugar and twice the caffeine." Recently (a couple of years ago, actually... ohhhh boy...) I saw that they had eliminated the "all the sugar" from the slogans on the can. My friends swore by Jolt Cola. I tasted it... but being a diabetic makes it difficult for me to truly enjoy stuff that sweet without taking several doses of insulin. I think that Jayne Cobb has a higher tolerance than many... or most. It's too bad that someone on this message board doesn't work for a private bottling company. I can see "Gen Con Only" products... |
| sorreahdarkhart07-19-07, 02:51 AM | As a guy who regularly consumes at least 2 biggdy cans of energy drinks, I felt morally obligated to respond to this topic. Considering there are several versions of energy drinks out there, usually made by the same company, I would certainly advise multiple types of the same D&D brand energy drink. Pespi has Amp, Amp Overdrive, Sobe Adrenaline Rush, Sobe Naturals (I think that's what it's named), and Sobe No Fear Coke has Rock Star (in several incarnations), Full Throttle (also in several incarnations), Tab Energy, and Coolah Energy. 7 Up has Red Jak (my favorite). Monster makes, well, Monster, and the Lost... Energy and Five-O. Jones Soda has been making their own set of Jones Energy Drinks. Why do I know this? I work in a ****ing grocery store! Anyways, back to the topic at hand. "Bull's Strength" is a good choice, along with "Bear's Endurance". "True Resurrection" could be the 'Cocaine' of the D&D Energy line, while a "Cure X Wounds" line could be a half-energy, half-juice type line. You could also draw on the races and deities, such as "Drow Venom" or "Light of Pelor". I do think a small test line of D&D related energy drinks would be absolutely righteous. |
| Illithid0007-19-07, 04:05 AM | I would hope that a D&D energy drink would be something like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs). What do you call it? True Resurrection! Great idea! I've gotta agree with this one! One question though: other than us DnD nerds, who would buy them? |
| skydin07-19-07, 04:27 AM | eh, crack of dawn conspiracy theories lack detail. what you gotta do is take the mountain dew brand energy drink (mdx or something like that), vault, pixie sticks, some ginsing, and mix it all together with a possible sprinkle of vanilla. then consume with a reeses fast break (found it works better with the new elvis banana & penut butter cups). i swear, i created a whole religion in 5 minutes, as well as several conspiracies for the government to turn us into mindless baren -something- slaves, thereby cutting down on over population and making any survivors pliable. ever since ive been having dreams about a future where that has taken place every couple of nights. they are in order, one right after the other, and dont seem all that far fetched at about 7AM.(it should be noted, other peoples 10AM is my 6AM, im not really awake until at least 2pm) |

| V812207-20-07, 09:41 AM | How about...Red Dragon? |
| KedynCrow07-20-07, 04:38 PM | I'm all for tossing back a few Nat. 20's. Though that D20 shaped can would be a b**** to hold...I'd end up getting carpal tunnel or something. Why not "XP"? When you get right down to it, it's already what every good red-blooded gamer is after. Plus, nothing satisfies like knowing that your are drinking yourself another step closer to epic levels. Plus, maybe one of the PCs would hand over a little XP to the poor, overworked DM...for a change. |
| Demon_Paladin07-20-07, 05:14 PM | XP... I like it. XP energy drink-level up energy. |
| key07-20-07, 07:26 PM | Great idea! I've gotta agree with this one! One question though: other than us DnD nerds, who would buy them? With that marketing angle, you would just sell them at gaming stores and rely solely on nerd demand. |
| Dracomortis07-20-07, 08:10 PM | XP - The experience point of a lifetime. Nerds would get the joke, it would apply to people outside the gaming circle, everyone wins. |
| Twylyght07-21-07, 12:14 AM | Well if we go for fruity flavors theres "Goodberry" the all natural berry booster. An almond flavored energy drink, with 1/10 cans containing a leathal dose of poison, called "Save or Die" One simply called "Broken" with a spiked chain pictured on the can. "Pun-Pun" pep punch. A soda line of several diffrent flavors all packaged in a single style of can labled "Can of Wonder" How about snacks? Cube shaped gelatin snacks with fruit flavored candy "trasure and bones" suspended in it. |
| TheAnthroDM07-21-07, 12:49 AM | Dragon Milk? |
| Optimator07-21-07, 04:49 AM | ewwww... |
| TheAnthroDM07-21-07, 05:46 AM | ewwww... I don't really see how much more eww it is than cow milk... |
| metatheurgist07-21-07, 09:47 AM | I don't really see how much more eww it is than cow milk... One of my favourite lines from Stargate, T'ealc to O'Neil: "I refuse to drink Bovine Lactate" Kinda puts it in perspective. It's all marketing. "Got Bovine Lactate?" just ain't gonna cut it, even with Sarah Michelle Gellar pouting. I'll offer up "Tenser's Transformation" for the name of a drink. Turns Nerds into Heroes! |
| Alac Luin07-21-07, 02:12 PM | What do you mean if? 4) Nerd Energy (http://www.nerdenergy.com/) This looked like some Gleemax thing, but it actually opens up to pay pal if you try to buy it... Gleemax is real? :P |
| Doleth07-21-07, 03:15 PM | I don't really see how much more eww it is than cow milk... Now, I no zoologist, but producing milk is pretty much a mammal thing, isn't? So dragon milk can only be some kind of slang, so ewwwwww indeed... |
| ImABanana07-21-07, 04:01 PM | Everyone in my DnD group is completely addicted to Monster Energy drink anyway. We probably give them at least 50 bucks a week. We all show up with like 2 canteen size monsters and we're like "Oh, I bought it in case one of you guys forgot one" and then we all drink two monsters so we're rediculously hyper and it ends up half of us laugh like crazy at the drop of a hat and the other half is impatient and ****** at the other half. It helps develope party battles :P |
| Optimator07-21-07, 05:31 PM | Now, I no zoologist, but producing milk is pretty much a mammal thing, isn't? So dragon milk can only be some kind of slang, so ewwwwww indeed... Exactly. |
| TheAnthroDM07-21-07, 06:22 PM | Now, I no zoologist, but producing milk is pretty much a mammal thing, isn't? So dragon milk can only be some kind of slang, so ewwwwww indeed... Dragons aren't reptiles. ;) Read the Draconicon. |
| key07-22-07, 12:16 AM | This looked like some Gleemax thing, but it actually opens up to pay pal if you try to buy it... Gleemax is real? :P Oh, it's real. Hordes of lime green bandana wearing dorks have been spotted across America, challenging the Crips and Bloods' stranglehold on gang violence (albeit fictional) and cool colors. |
| Amaril07-22-07, 11:47 AM | Remember this (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/news/20051017a)? |
| Demon_Paladin07-22-07, 06:59 PM | Remember this (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/news/20051017a)? Well, would you look at that. |
