| StormKnight03-24-05, 03:47 PM | It is scheduled for release in April... |
| Draco Obscura03-24-05, 03:52 PM | More than that, Amazon has a release date of April 1st. But I'm seeing a lot of other secondary evidence suggesting its real. Too many bookstores would have to be in on the joke. |
| thinkhard03-24-05, 04:24 PM | i bet its both real and a joke...as in its real but is just so stinkin silly they have to release it on april fool's day |
| Seeker9503-24-05, 06:12 PM | It's real, and I'm getting it. It will be the perfect introduction to the game for "non-gamers". |
| StormKnight03-24-05, 06:24 PM | I wonder how many sales will be from people who actually don't know about D&D and want to or how many will be just be from D&D players who think its too silly to resist? (Not saying I won't be in that second category at all :) ) |
| TiggerLilly03-24-05, 06:31 PM | Are you serious? Is there really gonna be a book written out that is dungeons and dragons for dummies?? Thast kinda cool and a little stupid at the same time. |
| Nuntius12803-24-05, 07:14 PM | I dunno... I'm hopeful. The last "Dummies" book I read(not cover to cover) was Buddhism for Dummies, and it was a lot better than other books I'd read about Buddhism, so maybe this will be(assuming its real) a great source for roleplaying tips, and the like? I'll definitely give it a look. |
| anshar03-24-05, 08:25 PM | Well, I have to have it if for no other reason than for the fact that it's a book that tells you how to use a book. :D I love cicular logic and endless loops. 10 print "hello world" 20 goto 10 And yes, I am an evil DM. |
| Gadodel03-24-05, 08:38 PM | It's real, and I'm getting it. It will be the perfect introduction to the game for "non-gamers". Me too!!! My source, 'Deep Pockets'; told me that the book will contain the following: *A summary of each edition. Pros/Cons, Errata. *An introduction to 4E. *Sidebars from famous gamers. People will get a kick out Vice President Dick Cheney's comments. *Conversion Charts. Other Games to D&D *Famous Movies Characters translated into D&D Game Mechanics. *Famous Literary Characters translated into D&D Game Mechanics. *List of Common Fallacies. Example: The Game breaks down after 20th+ Level. (It goes on to say that WoTc wishes people would play Gods and just get on with it) I can't wait!!! |

| Rumple_Cragstan03-24-05, 10:26 PM | This book seems awesome. I don't have much money, but I'm going to buy this one without a doubt. Its almost sad that I'm gung-ho about buying a 'D&D for Dummies' when I'm too lazy to buy any new sourcebooks that will do anything in-game. |
