Is it just me or does the paladin totally suck balls? A 10 Charisma? I thought the Worldwide D&D Gameday was meant to highlight the cool stuff about D&D, not give players the chance to play intentionally nerfed characters. Any player who plays the pre-generated paladin and then sees the fighter is going to wonder why paladins suck so much. Worst pre-generated character ever.

I concur. Did the person who generated that character even read the PHB entry on paladins?
This paladin can't even use lay on hands.
And why is the spell failure of the armor filled in, when a paladin doesn't cast arcane spells?

I'll bet that the characters were generated with software that just automatically filled in the Arcane Spell Failure box based on the armour that was equiped. Even the Cleric has it filled in. :ahem:

Have a look at this thread as well for other oopses.

I bet you are correct. What a shame. I was kind of looking forward to game day, had even planned to take off of work, but now...meh...

Man, I used to think Beer Taster or Food Critic would be my dream job, but now I think it's WotC Proofreader...spend all day playing Minesweeper and ICQ tag...

Did you consider it might be intentional ?
All paladins are not necessary charismatic knights in shining armor.
Some a rough, rustic, coming from tough times, living in the wild or poverty, without any support from an order or a religious organization or order.
Sure, a paladin with a low charisma score would lose an important part of his potential, but maybe the player would do that intentionally, to explore some roleplaying developments.
Strengths are not always the only interesting parts of a character, sometimes (often ?), weaknesses are as interesting, if not even more.

Character development notwithstanding, the Paladin's skill points are incorrect. They paid for intimidate and jump as though they are class skills when they are not.

But are these characters not meant to highlight the class and its potential?
This pally was not developed for a person, but for hundreds of players to enjoy. Hard to do when they castrated his abilities and mis-applied his numbers.

I noticed the ranger gets no animal companion. this may be intentional to reduce confusion and keep it simple, but they do get a a bit ripped-off
