See the sticky thread on the guessing game...

I didn't win. I didn't go to gencon. Can someone at WotC tell me how I might aquire one of these babies, even at retail value (39.95)?

Thanks

How do you know you didn't win? Maybe I missed it but I didn't see an official winner anouncement.

I didn't win because I didn't enter in time.

They don't seem to be saying whether they'll be making those totes available. It'd be completely rediculous for them not to; there's obviously a demand. Plus why would it have a retail value if it was never going to see retail?

Charon Productions (a Canadian company) has generic versions and they are the ones who made the one for WotC.

Gamer's Satchel at Charon Production (http://www.battlepack2001.com/satchel.html)

It is roughly $30 American.

You can also buy it at FRP Games' website cheaper and in the USA.

I just had to say that you have one of the best user names and sigs I've seen on these boards.

Bravo.

Seems a bit different, but close enough that if the offical one doesn't pop up, the generic will do fine. :)

After checking one out at GenCon, I was less than impressed. They're not nearly as large as they appear to be, and definetly don't seem to be worth 40bux, when I can buy basically the same thing for about 15bux at K-Mart.

*shrug* Whatever works for you though, my 10bux messengerbag will work just fine for me.

We had the totes available for sale at Gen Con. They did pretty well, and you may see them for sale in game stores not too far down the road.

Basically, we had a limited number for sale at Gen Con to guage demand, and we ran the contest on the web to raise awareness of their sale at Gen Con. Both efforts demonstrated that the demand is there, so, if we can get everything worked out and the distributors and retailers agree that it's worth doing, we'll probably offer them through game stores.

If you'd like a tote, ask your retailer. He won't be able to get you one right away (it takes a few months--at least--to get something like this off the ground), but he'll appreciate knowing that there's a demand out there!

Heh, mine's even better - I won a free backpack when I bought a case of Heineken. It holds a surprisingly large amount of materials, and even has pockets for dice, pencils. etc.

I second that. Never caught the joke until just now.

i was wondering, who was the poor soul that had to fill that bag with dice and count them? i mean, he must've made a very important Coaster Wizard really mad! or was it just a random pick ("and the one that's gonna fill the bag is gonna bee.....bob!") or maybe its just the guy that always gets the works that no one wants ("but all the pieces of paper says "bob""- "be a good loser, bob")

THANK YOU! Just as long as there is an announcement for when these puppies are on sale, I'll be in line waiting. Thank you again for answering!

There wouldn't possibly be a couple left over from GenCon, could there? ;)

I just got the Fight Club reference. I thought you were talking about adding Driz'zt to his own name. Now it is much funnier! :D

I love the Melee Magthere line.

Bags, what bags? I haven't been around long enough, I guess. Were they cute? oops, I forgot, most of you are guys...were they...um...(what is "cute" in guy-speak?)...da bomb?

I'd be extremely happy to see these go up for sale at my FLGS. I'll be sure to ask my main man down there to keep an eye out.

The winner and total dice count was posted here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=7078415&postcount=1).

I was only off by around 100.. :tantrum:

Another thread pointed out that the winner had guessed 2613, while the correct answer was 2612. According the rules, he's exceeded the amount, and should not have won.

Of course, I didn't enter in time :( and (sour grapes) don't want the thing anyway, so it's NBD to me.
