Well, we're a little over a month into the Forum Lead program. Part of that function is to foster and facilitate improvements to the respective Boards to which we have been assigned. So...

Restricting your ideas to the operation of *this Board only*:
what would you change and why do you think such a change would be an improvement?

I guess I should put the caveat out there that none of this is a promise that such changes will be implemented. But nothing can get improved without ideas for improvement.

Tell us who the D&D General is.

I have been searching for him/her for years.

Also, I would like a promotion to D&D Sgt. Major.

I have been searching for him/her for years.Your search has ended, Pendergrasshopper. I stand before you.
Also, I would like a promotion to D&D Sgt. Major.Done. Now polish my boots. :emp:

My dad retired sergeant major after 22 years in the army. A nice rank.
Respected by the officers and worshiped by the enlisted.

D&D Private Parts and Major Tool, reporting for duty, SIR!

As a forum, General is a toughie. Its basically 'miscellaneous but semi-relevant stuff that doesn't work anywhere else, or does, but is placed in the wrong forum and will be moved shortly'.

You need a miscellaneous section like General to keep the clutter down.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a voting system for threads that allows readers to cast tallies on whether or not the topic should be banned/temporarilly banned. Almost like a 'report abuse' function, but it allows we posters/readers to flag threads that we feel are getting out of hand.

We have an individual report post function, but a "Hey wizzes, I think this whole thread is getting crazy" button might help.

Apart from humorously megalomanical, unhelpful and hightly impracticle, self-serving statements, I'm afraid I can't think of a single thing, Seeker.

Either this means your generalship will be an easy one or I'm just not trying hard enough...

Like Voran says, organising a miscellanous board is not easy. If I think of anything I'll be sure to let you know.

Well, making sure this forum (and all/some of the others) don't simply go poof after the release of 4.0 would be nice. If they will be erased when 4.0 comes around then there is not much point to this thread.

I might try to keep 3.5 going, and I am the only DM (more like quasi-DM) I know who is interested in trying, but if these forums get wiped I am completely on my own. :(

I will second the request that these forums stay open post 4th edition.

I also think you should sticky this (or a similar "Suggestion Box" type of thread).

This way, people can add their thoughts on an ongoing basis.

I'll be making such a request in the VL Request thread as soon as I have some semblance of confidence that a single massive request thread for the plethora of requests is likely to be productive. In the meantime, we have my daily check and the occasional *bump*. :tiphat:
