I read Dragonlance in high school over fifteen years ago and the Crystal Shard books over a decade ago. More recently I've read The Alabaster Staff, The Lady of Poison, the first two books of The Last Mythal and the first five books from The War of the Spider Queen. Just looking for good reading material/game inspiration for nights when I'm the only one in the office or when the wife crashes out and I can't sleep. Thanks. |

I have the Dark Elf Trilogy, because, let's be honest, who doesn't, and my friend made me read some Dragonlance once, but that's about it for me. |

My personal favorites were: 1- the Elenium and it's sequel The Tamuli, written by David Eddings 2-The Belgariad and it's sequel the Malloreon also by David Eddings. That said there are some really good D&D novels out there, my favorites were. 1- The dreaming dark series ( Eberron), Keith Baker rocks !!! 2-The Cleric Quintet 3-The drizzt trilogy ( homeland, etc) 4-The Hunter's Blade trilogy 5-Knight of the black rose and it's sequel Specter of the Black rose ( Ravenloft) 6-Vampire of the Mist and the sequel I Strad ( also Ravenloft) I'm not a Drizzt fanboy or anything but the novels are good and Drizzt is cool. The problem is'nt him, it's the fanboys. That said Have fun all my suggestions are really good books... |

| CzarGarrett04-06-06, 01:21 PM | I wouldn't stick entirely with D&D based fantasy books. While there are some good ones, the majority of excellent fantasy books are not directly D&D related. I'm sure there's half a dozen threads about good fantasy books scattered around the boards here- I'd check them. |

Without breaking the rules by giving full-on reviews, I'd reccomend the following: The Dreaming Dark Series by Keith Baker. The Dragon Below Series by Don Bassingthwaite War Torn, Book 2: The Orb of Xoriat. Also, if you want to discuss novels, I reccomend this forum: http://www.essential-eberron.com/forum/ The Eberron authors read this one, and are (mostly) available to answer questions. |
