| Shiftkitty09-14-07, 08:00 PM | Maybe just a thread for general silliness and random thoughts. I delivered cases to two dental patients, one with a last name of "Genasi" (didn't specify which element), the other with the name of "Nancy Knoll", which I misspelled on the delivery tag as "Gnoll". I immediately thought "Nancy Gnoll, meet Otto Orc, Danny Dwarf, Emily Elf, and Herbie Human." I probably should have expected that sort of thing that day, because I started the day delivering cases for "Mary Christian" and "Samantha Pagan" (to the same dentist!). I've mentioned this in a much older thread, but it's worth repeating. I'm sure they mean "Accidental Death & Dismemberment", but it's interesting that my credit union offers "AD&D Insurance". (They don't say if it's for the books and materials or for your character in-game.) |

I'm pretty sure I would've got the question right even if I hadn't played D&D but I can remember wondering if they meant Baaz or Bozak. |
| Teh_username09-17-07, 01:08 PM | Heh. I passed many a middle/high-school History and English test thanks to knowledge gleaned from old-school AD&D. The various kinds of mercenaries and wide amount of polearms alone saved me more than once. :D On a more amusing note... Couple years ago, on my Modern Dance final, one of the questions was "What is the best alignment for [maneovure I can't remember]?" I was, you may imagine, utterly stumped. My answer, which I got partial* credit for, was "Lawful Good, so the dancer can wield the Holy Avenger +5". *"partial" meaning about the same as "did not leave blank" |
