No need to explain what this thread's about I think. Here are some thoughts:
-A D&D prison sourcebook
-Necroscope (who wouldn't want to put a Wamphyri in their D&D game?)
-Unearthed Arcana 2
-A sourcebook on Menzoberranzan

Ultimate Core Books.

All the changes on Polimorph, new drawings, new iconics, all the feats plus the most famous from other places (like Monkey Grip), revised core classes (We don´t need a warmage, or a battle sorcerer, just a GOOD Sorcerer), like the Druid from PH2 (instead of the original one), etc, etc...

Im not talking about 3.75. Just a... Complete Core.

I agree, those compendiums make a lot of sense to me! Not everyone can buy every sourcebook out there, but the feats and classes sans fluff would be great for a DM source book.

I'd also like to see some more details on designing your own campaign worlds and adventures, as well as generic adventures.

-Underdark has a 3e Menzoberranzan. It does not have as much fluff as the 2e Drow of the Underdark, Menzoberranzan Box Set, or Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, but it is in 3e, like you wanted.

The Dungeon Masters Guide To Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. It exists and it is called the Book of Erotic Fantasy. An actualy employee of Wizards did it, Gwendolyn F.M. Kestrel. I know you were kidding, but there you go. IMO, that book is kind of weird. I mean, would you RP THAT with your pals around a table? And why RP that with your girlfriend when you can do something else? ahem. I RP because I can't really slay a dragon in real life. Hell, I'd be afraid of a crocodile even if I had a sword in my hands. But that other thing covered in the BoEF, that I can do no problem in real life!

I can understand players and DM's alike wanting these compendiums, but what I can't understanding would be WotC even remotely considering so many of them. WotC makes money off of selling more books, and if all the feats, prestige classes, base classes, races and other things each had their own compendiums, I can't see a reason why people would even bother to buy books like Complete Adventurer, etc., since that's what they're made up of with some fluff on the side.

As for the two existing compendiums, the Spell Compendium and the Magic Item Compendium (slated for a March release, I believe), they will not, by themselves turn D&D players away from buying things like the Complete Adventurer. Spells and magic items have just gotten completely out of hand with searching though books, because unlike permanent things that characters have and would know well, like classes and feats and racial abilities, spells and magic itmes are many times temporary effects and are variable (wizards don't have to cast the same spell twice, or new magic items are used). They require referencing the most. Those compendiums are in demand just for that reason alone, and as it won't cut into profits from the Complete series, etc., WotC, I believe, is happy to oblige to make life a little easier. At least, that's what I think.

As for books I'd like to see, I really think a book for forests and swamps for the environment series would be great. Personally, I think there could be a whole book on swamps, as I ran a campaign with some time being passed in the swamp, and it was one of the better parts of my campaign. Jungles could be lumped into this book as well. I think a number of people have been talking about the need for this also.

I'd like to see a book that helped to build better villains, but with information that is not unbalanced like I hear the Book of Vile Darkness is, and that doesn't require the Book of Exalted Deeds to balance it out. Not to mention that BoVD is 3.0.

I would also like to see a book purely devoted to the D&D pantheon: Ehlonna, Hextor, etc.. I would like to know about their temples/churches and their organization, the gods themselves and their histories, what are expected of followers, alignment issues related to the deities. The religious impact on the D&D society. Monsters that follow certain gods and their traditions. There's so many more issues here that I'm not going into, like relations between the churches, etc..

I'd like to see some WotC published Quintessential [Race] books. The races of _______ are good, but there's nothing more I'd like to see than a whole entire book dedicated to Dwarves. Full of Dwarven substitution levels, Prestige classes, special Forging "magic", and all that good stuff.

That said, i completely realise this is a pipe dream so I won't hold it against them.

What I find funny is people who keep talking about the 4th edition. What the hell for? We are using the revised 3rd edition (as I sometimes call 3.5) right now folks. Live in the present. I mean, they'll be the same guys who'll talk about the 5th edition when the 4th is finally out. And yes I realize that the previous post mentioning it was a joke, but I felt like it gave me an opening to state my opinion on the matter.

About the Book of Vile Darkness being unbalanced and needing the Book of Exalted Deeds to balance it out, that's not true, don't worry. The BoVD is an excellent book, made by Monte Cook by the way, one of the 3 creators of the 3rd edition. What people sometimes don't seem to understand about that book is that it was made for DMs. It is even said so in the introduction. It's made so the material will actually challenge the [I]blaze[I] players out there, and will make them a little more wary of the bad guys. In no way are the challenges presented in that book impossible to overcome, unless your DM is just plain dumb. Of course no villain should have a weapon that deals Vile Damage if you don't have a Cleric in your group, because then no one will be able to heal it, but that's just common sense from the DM's part. As for it's counterpart, the Book of Exalted Deeds, I thought it was lame how it countered SPECIFICALLY everything presented in the Book of Vile Darkness, thus taking the scary factor away from the book that was meant to make villains scary again. Also, while you can use BoVD on it's own without relying on the BoED, the BoED kind of depends on it's counterpart. I'm not complaining about the quality of BoED by the way, just about an aspect I hated.

About people complaining that such and such material is 3.0 and not 3.5, really... I mean, SOME material in the very early 3.0 D&D books was not as good as the material they produce now, and not as balanced, but that was the early 3.0. By the time the last 3.0 books came out, the quality was equal to the present revised edition. And that includes BoVD. Conversions between an original and a revision are easy, let's not even go there. The material that was really broken was revised already, sometimes under a new name in the case of certain Prestige Classes where the theme remained the same but the mechanics were radically different. What kills me is people asking for the "3.5 versions" of the Lasher and the Ghostwalker. Newsflash, those classes don't need to be revised, they are very good as they stand and completely usable with 3.5! Don't get me wrong, I am thankful they revised the Tempest, but the Tempest did not work out for the Ranger anymore under the 3.5 rules until it reappeared in Complete Adventurer!

-Draconimicon II ;)

-Draconimicon III :P

On a more serious note:

-Scaled Races (A Races of.. book purely about all forms of lizard-folk, sauroids, Yuan-ti and various new reptilian races, also stuffed ofcourse with various new monsters ralated in some way, plenty of presitige classes and tips on Jungle based encounters and overgrown temple adventures.)

-Armed and Augmented (A book on Grafts, Half-Golems, permanent ritual enhancements and item crafting.)

-Fiendish Codex about Obyriths.

A bit more expanded then just Dominera:
-Otaria/Dominera/Ravnica/Mirrodin campaign settings.

-Expanded Savage Species

Again on a slightly less serious note:
-The Real Monster Manual II

-The Proper Fiend Folio

-The Reduced entry-size but stuffed with more Monsters Monster Manual IV

And just for an od idea.
-Big book O' baddies. (Cr 1 to Cr 30 sample bad guys)

-Big book O' baddies. (Cr 1 to Cr 30 sample bad guys)

-Star Wars RPG has something like that. I've never actually purchased the book, because I don't play SWRPG very much, and because it is easy enough to create my own villains, but it's an interesting idea. I'd be cool to see something like that in D&D. But, it would have to have one of those: "In the Realms...In Eberron..." kind of things.

The Complete Farmer: Why don't more farmers go out and adventure? After all, their lives are short and miserable enough, why not at least go out and try?

The Complete Camp Follower: About those ladies (and guys) who keep the fire in the armies and give them something to look forward to after a hard day's war.

The Complete Coward: New arms and armor guarenteed to keep the yellow livered wimps safe.

The Complete Munchkin: Helps to munchkin out characters and gives players new ways to frustrate the DM with innovative ways to read the rules and make it work only for you.

A redux of Dieties and Demigods, BoVD, BoED, Savage Species and the planar books. Just to put them in 3.5. I find 3.0 feels...half finished sometimes.

A book on all the countries in Eberron that were not covered in Five Nations, done by the same people. 5N is the second best Eberron book, after Sharn: City of Towers.

More generic 'Complete' style books with less fluff and more crunch (preferably supporting the newer base classes as well, especially Warlock!)

Complete War/Heroes of War or something, a guide on how to actually run large scale battles since Heroes of Battle, while good, rather glossed over this factor (which was mainly why I bought the book in the first place!)

More psionic support (like a decent complete book would be nice!)

Full, 3.5 revised versions of the BoED/BoVD which don't cause more alignment problems than they were supposed to solve! (Preferably with less damn demon/angel stats and more generic PrCs so those of us that don't use the Great Wheel cosmology can make more use of it! And with support for non-lawful Good and non-icky Evil...)

More mechnically inventive class ideas, and maybe a few more variants of the more original base classes (i.e. warlock-type SLA users, more Aura-type classes for example.)

D20 Pokemon (Yes, I'm serious!)

D20 Transformers (G1, obviously)

D20 Middle-Earth (actually, I'm more likely to play rolemaster for that, but hey, I can dream!)

And finally, and obviously most importantly:

Complete Lich

Complete Lich II

Complete Lich III through XXVI

Really Complete Uber-Lich That Urinates On Vampires From a Great Height, Despite That Particular Act Being Physically Impossible For A Lich

(Okay, maybe that's a bit too long; even the abbrieviation (RCULTUOVFAGHDTPABPIFAL) is longer than most titles currently out...)

I am not being sarcastic, I really want it.

Sectioned is okay, but reorganized would be better. I'd like to see it broken down into sections/chapters with the contents fully integrated but with an area at the end of each section that is DM-only/quic reference info.

That's exactly what I liked about HoB. It gave you ideas on how to have a mass battle going on in the background while you focus on what the PCs do.

For what it's worth, the True20 Bestiary has a template that can be applied to most creatures, which turns them into an army with its own stats like a monster (kinda like the mob template in DMG2, only on a larger scale). It's one simple way of doing things.

A compendium is a nice way to wrap things up, especially for existing material that has stopped selling. After all, with a compendium, Hasbro/WotC wouldn't have to pay for a new book, just rehash the existing data into a compendium.

A compendium would help keep older material "out front", where some stores may not be carrying earlier 3.5 material anymore; such as Draconomicon, or the Complete series . . .

As for more environs, I agree wholeheartedly agree. I have found those so usefull! We've got desert (Sandstorm), ocean/water (Stormwrack), cold/glacial (Frostburn), undeath/undead (Libris Mortis), planar (Planar Handbook), earth/mountain (Races of Stone), and primitive forest/mountain (Races of the Wild). How about books about swamps & jungles (both tropical and temperate), or plains & prairies?

It's a 3.0 book, if I remember correctly at this past August's GENCON they mentioned that this was one of their best back stock sellers. So it would not surprise to see a revised version late next year. Also perhaps why more and more books come with classed and leveled monsters/villians examples.

A 3.5 Arms & Equipment Guide! Updated and with more misc. items! (the older one is 3.0).
That and the Spell Compedium (which does exist) would be perfect. Since we have limited numbers of PHBs in the team, and picking out equipment and spells take the longest. That way when we add people to our team, or just roll up another guy; We won't have to fight over the PHBs. Someone hits the skill list and makes their rolls, then passes it and goes into the Item Guide, passes that and then (maybe) the spell compedium. Yeah, it's assembly line-ish, but it'll shave lots of character generation time off. :D

ah-ha, but you're barely scratching the surface. There would be splat books containing rules for playing a pit crew.

DM: Ok, Jimmy, it's been 55 rounds, you're going to run out of fuel soon.

I'd like to see a book that focuses on using special techniques, like you see in anime and video games (like Soul Calibur), something with a heavy martial arts flavour to it...

...oh wait, I already bought Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords. Let's see now...

Perhaps a book with alternate rules that focuses on a very low-magic world... something in which you can do various things during combat or with skills without having to take special feats...

Wait, I already bought Monte Cook Presents: Iron Heroes.

Seriously though, I'd like to see Complete Martial, simply because I'm curious about what they would put in it. Would it just be more prestige classes, more feats, more uses for skills, and more details for organizations? Or would it do something like Tome of Battle did?

Ooh ooh, I'd like to see Tome of Battle become a series of books. I mean, after all, it's Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords. Maybe that means there's more coming in this line? More sets of disciplines would be very, very nice. ;)

See, that’s the cool thing, there's a product for everyone.

Maybe we can hope for a Complete Variant (incarnum/binding/shadow/truename etc).

They'll probably bring out Complete Familiar or Guide to Pack Animals before we see such a book.
I think it depends on how much they percieve people wanting to by more info on those classes. Look at the popularity of the warlock, people are (supposedly) buying Cityscape just for the few warlock invocations. Clearly somewhere along the way WotC saw that the warlock was popular and decided to support it. They may not be doing the same thing with Incarnum or any other alternate magic because they don't see the market for them.

Minions of the Moon Lycanthrope splatbook!
Fiendish Codex III for the deamons or whatever they're called now.

and revise Fiend Folio, MMII and Savage Species for 3.5.

I would really like a book about the FR Outer Planes. A lot. They changed the cosmology with 3e and I don't think have ever really gotten into the planes themselves. I want to know more.

Campaign-Builders Guidebook - Plenty of ideas, fluff, ect.

A campaign setting with a European-fairytale flavor or maybe a book with a variety of miniature campaign settings ready for expanding.

Dittos on Sulaco's Master Core book

Y,know what? Where the heck are those WotC market-researchers!?

Ummm, not to rain on any parades, but BoED IS 3.5, BoVD is kinda 3.25ish.(Only 3.0 holdovers are DR and skills)

That being said:

Complete Incarnum

Races of the Soul

Yes, I believe there is a market for them, WoTC even put some new soulmelds in a future book(Dragon Magic).

If you don't believe Incarnum has a large enough following, you should check out that Incarnum petition on this board. It caught the attention of WoTC_Andy(Lead Developer for MoI) and the folks in R&D. :)

Viva la Incarnum!

Awesome – great news.

I think incarnum is one of the most interesting and elegant systems/books to come down the pike for old D&D.

I know it's a love or hate thing - well, I love it.

Someone mentionned a book for large-scale battles, which wasn't covered rules-wise in Heroes of Battle. It already exists I'm glad to inform you! (yay!) Just check "Cry Havok!" from Malhavok Press! It's from Monte Cook's company, so you can forgive it for not being "official". Personally, when someone who was the co-creator of 3E D&D publishes it, it's official enough for me. :-p

"Complete Psionics 2: We screwed up on the frist, but now we learned out lesson." WotC you have a lot to do to fix your horrible excuse with CPsi.

"d20 Future: Cyberspace 2" The first one was freaking aweseome, but I crave more cybernetics!!!

"Complete Incarnum" Nuff' said.

"Heroes of Comedy" And no I'm not joking... :P

"World Builders Guidebook" Why WotC hasn't created one yet is beyond me. This book is needed!

"Complete Martial Adept" Tome of Battle is freaking awesome, now we just need more schools that include range attacks and other goodies.

"101 ways to kill off Elmister" I can't wait... :evillaugh

"Complete Complete" A book that expands the classes from many of the previous complete books.

"Heroes of the West" I hate westerns, but I like the game Wild Arms 3, so something like that.

"Draconomicon 2" Gem dragons better be in this time around! :waits:

"Kamigawa" Kamigawa is easily my favorite MtG world and I would love to see a D&D adaption.

"Complete Rejects" A complete book with materials rejected from other books. It can be a mish-mash of unrealted material! :w00t:

A cool idea, but I think WotC has pretty much silently stated since 3rd edition hit the scene that they would not be doing any M:tG/D&D crossover anything.

They really seem to want to keep the lines separate.

Based on the drivel that seems to be coming out now, I don't see why they'd think it matters. :bored:

WotC just needs to come out with Complete Warlock, a Book that reprints the Warlock, and gives around 100-200 choices of Invocations (UNIQUE not just "See X spell") and maybe a Psionic Warlock (Uses Psionic Invocations).

This is NEEDED, warlocks got jiffed... and Warlock PrCs (They need more!).

To be completely honest, I'm not sure I can. I'll see what I can dig out, though:

* 90% of everything that comes out seems to be combat-related.

That's my definition of drivel. I could also include my grievences against the moral and personality assignments of creatures, but I won't because I know no one will listen. Other than combat-feature-X I think they are doing okay.

Complete Alchemy

A book detail all of the previous alchemical items and presenting new ones. It could also have ideas about using them in various levels of play, and it could have enhancements to mundane clothing like in Eberron. Of course it would have the Alchemist class and others.

How about

Errata
"ok we screwed up, here is a fix, not just an alteration to do the job."

This would include all the currently noted errata and....
Fixing the fighter
Fixing the Hex Blade
Downgrading the Deivin casters
and maybe downgrading the casters, in general, at higher levels
Fixing the Bard, a bits
Fixing the Half Orc
Fixing the Half Elf
Fixing the Panetuched
Fixing the Weapon Size and reach issue
Fixing the wording for the Durvish, have you read this class, its like a contriditioning monkey!
and much more

Don't forget Ultimate Martial Artist (hero games) or Blood and Fist (RPGObjects) both of which I actually like better than RM's Martial Arts Companion (although I do like MAC for the new Monk Professions and new MA skills). Blood and Fist is also for d20Modern, but with a slight tweak could work for DND.

book of creation- guides for balancing homebrew classes, races, and magical items

complete power- 1001 insanely overpowered classes, items, feats and combos- guaranteed to make your DM cry within 90 days or your money back! (allow 91 days for shipping and handeling)

I like Blood and Fist: Modern Martial Arts. But the only way this crew will ever accept any options for a purely martial arts campaign is if Wizards does a martial arts book.

Otherwise, it's immediately classed as *Unbalanced.*
