| Mysticbadger12-18-05, 03:35 AM | One of my friends want to start a pirate campaign. Could you please give me some references for that ? - dragon mag articles - wotc (or not) books - threads -... Thanks ! |
| JLP12-18-05, 03:43 AM | Dragon #318 has pirates (and ninjas and the Oriental Adventures 3.5 update). |
| Bluebrush12-18-05, 09:28 AM | You may want to check out the defence bonus variant, as seen in Unearthed Arcana. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/defenseBonus.htm |
| Feor12-18-05, 09:35 AM | Complete Warrior has the Swashbuckler base class, Complete Adventurer has a "Dread Pirate" presitge class (I'm still waiting for a group with a Dread Pirate, a Duelist, and a Hulking Hurler :P) Plus there's the entirety of the book Stormwrack, which was designed to facilitate adventures on the high seas. |
| Seeker9512-18-05, 01:19 PM | Google.com is your friend Keywords: d20 Pirate |
| green_yawgmoth12-18-05, 02:38 PM | You have to have ninjas, zombies, and monkeys in this campaign as well. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
| Scipion Emilien12-18-05, 04:14 PM | Of course, Stormwrack would be useful for the boat and sea environnement. |
| Chairman7w12-18-05, 06:54 PM | Somebody (I think it's Sword & Sorcery) has a book called "Dead Man's Chest" that's all about D20 Pirate stuff. Additionally, Green Ronin's "Skull & Bones" is a pirate based D20 game. Both are excellent. |
| Waterhammer12-18-05, 10:12 PM | You have to have ninjas, zombies, and monkeys in this campaign as well. Zombie ninja monkeys! |
| Chairman7w12-19-05, 10:36 AM | (Chairman nods vigorously while in the middle of a drink of Pepsi) (Gulp) Yep!! Gotta have monkeys! The book Dead Man's Chest has a monkey. A BBBIIIIIGGG monkey! LOL!!! |
| Leibel12-19-05, 10:45 AM | Lacedon's are fun but don't forget the Lizardfolk(either MM ones or the MM 3 Poison Dusk ones) - that hold breath ability could be nasty. And the Sahuagin are not called sea devils for nothing. |
| edwardsobel12-19-05, 10:49 AM | Swashbuckling adventures this is an entire campagin setting around pirates. a d20 version of 7th sea campaign |
| Waterhammer12-19-05, 01:56 PM | In my post above I meant to quote green yawgmoth, but messed it up. Sorry, green. |
| spoogemonkey12-21-05, 10:35 AM | There is also a sourcebook called Pirates of the Fallen Stars There is also a pirate-speak website. Conjugation of the verb "to be": I be, you be, she be, we be, they be, etc. Arrrgh! |

Just OOOZZEESS flavor!!! Careful though, it's a tough high-powered (lots of free powerful Feats with Classes, etc). |
| primemover00312-21-05, 05:57 PM | Swashbuckling adventures this is an entire campagin setting around pirates. a d20 version of 7th sea campaign You must be EXTREMELY careful with this book... some of the feats are just insanely unbalanced. It's meant to be a low or no magic world, so it makes up for that in class abilities and feats. Stormwrack is a good book for all the sea based mechanics, but not neccessarily the pirate flavor. |
