| Potmoss05-04-04, 04:43 PM | X-Play (on Tech TV) is about to review a D&D game. Just thought i'd tell people who are about to buy the game. |
| Boberto05-04-04, 04:53 PM | Which game? |
| Potmoss05-04-04, 04:54 PM | Dunno I was just flipping through but my sister changed the channel...... |
| Potmoss05-04-04, 05:15 PM | X-Play comes on Tech TV weekdays 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM (US Eastern Time) if you want to see if there's a repeat with the review of the D&D game for the X-Box. I didn't get to see the episode they just showed today.... :( |
| Necro-File05-05-04, 03:18 AM | Many D&D licenced PC and video games don't do the franchise justice. They can only really focus on the Hack'n'Slash gameplay, and sometimes have a good compelling story line but so far only Neverwinter Nights by Bioware actually makes good by bringing PnP style play to a video medium (online play with custom modules that are DM'd). |

| Lord_Anthrax05-05-04, 09:48 AM | Which is a shameful review, it was written by someone who 1)Didn't play the game for very long and 2)Was incapable of understanding the simplest of game commands. It's fair for them to dis its buglist, since they have to assume buyers can't patch their games, but should have mentioned that there is a patch which fixes most of them. Unfortunately that review was written just after release and left on the shelf to collect dust while the patch was released in the meantime and made the game much more playable. |

Where does it say that the reviewer "didn't play the game for very long"? |
| Aelruc05-05-04, 10:05 AM | This is my 2nd time burned by Atari in one year First was Masters of Orion 3 and now Temple of Elemental Evil TOEE needs that 2nd promised patch released, the game is playable but it lacks the polish of a Bioware game like Neverwinter Nights or some of the Baldur's Gate games. |
| JustKim05-05-04, 01:35 PM | It breaks my heart to hear people use the Atari name to describe their disappointment in Infogrames' lousy games. It seems like the only effect the name change has had is to ruin Atari's good name and defile a part of video gaming history. |
| Zyphus05-05-04, 02:45 PM | TOEE needs that 2nd promised patch released, the game is playable but it lacks the polish of a Bioware game like Neverwinter Nights or some of the Baldur's Gate games. I have an older system and find TOEE barely playable. It has NO hotkey commands, everything has to use the radial menu and mouse, and if you are at the edge of the map you cannot always select off the menu. "Friendly fire" is pretty common since I have a smaller screen and characters are often very close to combatants. Just why my Paladin would whack my Ranger is beyond me. The tutorial does NOT cover that much and should be longer. The in-game help is bad, and the manual is more like the PH than how to use the game interface. I would have been much happier if it had been done 2D Bard's Tale style, as the 3D seems to get in the way more than be cool. It can take a LONG time to travel a map if you have a sneaking halfling, and there does not seem to be a way to keep the group together at the slowest member's speed. While there are some good things to say, I just want to emphasize people should not buy this product, though if they release a second patch I may change my mind. |
