04-23-08, 07:23 PM Does anyone know where to find the D&D rules. not the official rules. I am talking about Rule 0 and such.

04-23-08, 07:33 PM They are found in many different locations, but the most commonly used location is the kitchen or dining room table of the DM. Said location in the home of one of the players in any given game is the second most common location for non-official D&D rules. More specifically, in both cases, a laptop, 3-ring binder, notepad, or DM brain on or near the kitchen or dining room table.

04-23-08, 09:27 PM Referring to house rues? The DM makes up house rules, to modify the game how he sees fit. The game is meant to be adjusted to each table however the players and DM feel fit.

Rule 0: This is the DM's ability to have the final adjudication and freedom to change any rule, or ruling in whiever way he feels fit to best help the game.

These rules can all be found in the Dungeon Master's Guide, though they're not listed as such. The numbers are simply quick ways of referring to two of the most basic guidelines of the game:

Rule 0: The DM may change, add or ignore any rule if they think it will make the game better.

Rule 0.5: Just because a DM can change a rule doesn't mean that they should.
