jasper 08-03-05, 08:45 AM	Oh please. I had D&D players rip me off of minis, dice, dragons, etc. It bad that she lost her gaming stuff. It sounds like a bash and grab and books were dump in the trash once the crook found out what he got.

I doubt the D&D Brand Team would have been quite so helpful in replacing her collection of Linda Ronstadt cds. :D (Our home was broken into twice in three months when we first moved in. I empathize with Jessica for the sense of violation and powerlessness that such an event brings.)
katarl 08-03-05, 09:08 AM	I've never heard of such a thing, everyone i know who puts even the tiniest value on the books i have beyond its paper value all know they're allowed to read or use them anyway (they just borrow them). The thieves around my area would ignore them completely, they're heavy, worthless to fences (no-one goes black market to buy dnd) and they're difficult to steal. Dnd fans stealing from others is a really strange occurrence, beyond the age of 11. I've misplaced plenty, but never had even a single mini stolen.
Escef 08-03-05, 09:09 AM	My older bro and his friends used to shoplift from their FLGS. And, mind you, these were kids who had some rank in their local scout troop. (Both my bro and one of his friends were Arrow of Light recipients... Scouts' honor my ass.)

DragonDeadite 08-03-05, 11:19 AM	I shall pray to St. Cuthbert that vengance is handed down upon these vile villians! They are not fit to walk these hallowed grounds of Dungeons containing Dragons! They will be teleported to the Abyss where a Batezu will devour their souls for the rest of eternity! No, really... this just sucks. No one should ever have their stuff stollen, and DnD books, more than CDs or a stereo, carry a real history with them. At least she can start a new history by saying "I got these books after my last set was stolen, because I have really good friends!"
