Any comments, questions, or help would be appreciated. :)
jaelis 10-25-07, 12:58 PM	As far as I know, the only campaign settings with official 3.5 support are Forgotten Realms, Eberron and (sort of) Greyhawk. Is that kind of what you're after?
trixkids789 11-02-07, 01:39 PM	Close. :grin: I was wondering if there was a list of what books were updated, or had a name change for each edition, so I don't get the same book. Ex. "Rise of the Chroniods 1st edition. This book was updated for the 2nd edition with 60 more pages, and combined with Yawn of the Brocoli. Its new name was Fall of Daffedels." I wouldn't want "Rise of the Chroniods". I'd want "Fall of Daffedels". :thumbsup: :cool:

Since 3e was meant as a consiolidation of the brand, there really was no reason to, as the whole point of BD&D was as a direct update of the OD&D rules that (originally intended but abjectly failing in practice) were meant to introduce the game and to lead players into AD&D. But the two rules sets, being worked on by different authors (AD&D was authored by Gary Gygax, while BD&D was authored by a number of hands, most notably [IIRC] Frank Mentzer) soon became almost completely incompatible games in their own right. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons- 1st & 2nd editions Personally, I'd have broken AD&D into both 1st and 2nd eds,only as there are subtle differences betwixt the two, but that's just me. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Grey Hawk Adventures Greyhawk was updated in the Livign Greyhawk Gazeteer and in a handful of other books, and Greyhawk became the default universe (in a somewhat altered form) for the 3.X core books. Forgotten Realms You kiddin'? :P Dragonlance Not by Wizards themselves, but the Hickmans and Margaret Weise have made a go of it. Oriental Adventures "No with a but," or "Yes with an and". It's nothing like the original OA, instead being the Legend of the Five Rings campaign setting. Dark Sun Nope. Ravenloft White Wolf had the licence for a while, but they gave it back to Wizards, who made a supermodule based on the original I6. Spelljammer none. Birthright Planescape Al-Qadim Tomes None here, either. LANKHMAR Never updated. I'm not even sure that WoTC has the rights anymore for the Erewhon/Lankhmar/Fahrfd and the Grey Mouser properties anymore. (they might, though, as Paizo is still selling the Lankhmar modules as PDFs). Mystara Odyssey Monsterous Arcana Red Steel None of these were updated, and actually, Mystara was never a AD&D publication -- it was wholly BD&D.

So, White Wolf was the only one to create books for Ravenloft before they gave it back to Wizards? Where there any updates done to the books other than the original I6?
Sarella Starshine 11-04-07, 01:09 PM	the orgininal I6 : castle ravenloft. Ravenloft was not even a setting in the very first module. It evolved into one though in later modules. (husband has the very orginal module and loved it to death.) the update: expedition to castle ravenloft. the 3.5 version of the orginal I6 module (got that and the undermountian one for hubby. he loved them so much in the 3.5 version that he decided to take up the DM mantle for the first time in is aprox. 30 year gamer life to run those two). in 3.x only 2 (3 if you include core (greyhawk)) were ever done by WotC: Ebberon (3.5) and Forgotten Realms (3.0 and 3.5). White Wolf did publish some Ravenloft books, but alas, I do not have any of them (when hubby and I started to get back into D&D and 3.x we told ourselves to only stick to to WotC books because we are compulsive collectors of such stuff, and if we expanded out to include 3rd party stuff...our book count could have easily trippled, if not quadrupled). Same with Dragonlance (I think the name of the company hickman and weise created was called Soveregin Press. Not too sure...like I stated above, I deliberately did not follow 3rd party publishers). Others like Darksun and Planescape, while never gotten any offical 3.x support (in the form of books), have 'official' fan sites that kept those settings updated to the 3.x rules. I don't know the sites off hand, but I am sure that there are a few forum members that do and will be happy to supply them to you. Beyond that, no other setting was translated into 3.x rules, at least that I know of. There may be somewhere floating in cyberspace websites devoted to updating the remaining settings into 3.x, but it may take a while searching to find them.
Darth_Azalin 11-04-07, 07:45 PM	Don't forget I10 which is part 2 of I6 (not in reality but in story). It's the first time you see Azalin. If you want the retooling (not a remake) of I10 you can get the 2.0 copy of House of Strahd. Mystara is just the Known world (the D&d world) that got an upgrade to 2.0 rules (AD&D)(Champions of Mystara box set - Challenge Series and other products including Audio CDs). In your listing you forgot. Horde Maztica Arcane Age Some of the major worlds Ravenloft Greyhawk Planescape Dark Sun Got updates through out the time in Dragon Mag. One of the best updates was the Forsaken Inn.
