D&D to Freeform [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-31-07, 04:42 PM		No good D&D groups are handy in my area, and so far there have been complications fitting in with most online games. However I do have success with Freeform Play-By-Post roleplays.

With me there is usually some crossover, some of my favourite concepts are Paladins & Blackguards. One spooky character I am developing now is evolving towards a mixed Hexblade/Blackguard.

Now numbers are meaningless in Freeform, and I make characters in detail, so how would I best present such abilities for descriptive writing? How can I add flavour and detail to the translation?

I am particularly looking for help with talents such as Smite Powers, Dark Blessing/Divine Grace, Aura of Despair, Hexblade Curse & so on. Many of these are direct numerical effects, and although I could write their use moderately well I am not sure about how to explain the abilities on the character profile.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am currently on a board with very high standards and I would like to do this well.
