They've just started showing Dungeons and Dragons on Toon Disney. It's ok but I've wondered what is that big bad guy?

Venger. He has no stats, he has no race; he is a living, breathing Plot Device. He does whatever needs to be done, or fight Tiamat.

Yeah your right man. I would appreciate it more if it was an anime and it wasn't by Disney. Something gives me a feeling this will end up like the DnD movie...

If it what I think it is, you both wrong... The series was made years back, way before the D&D movie existed. There's even a homage to it in Baldur's Gate 2...
And if D&D ever reached anime I pray to every god, spirit and doctor to stop it being computer generated...

Ah the anime that is of DND my fellow group member watched the first five eps then said "forget this I would rather play thatn watch" Basically stating the fact that DND is no fun to just watch when you can play.

It's more than twenty years old. If you want to find out a bit on it, check out the Internet Movie DataBase Listing (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085011/) for it.

looks at search engine...dear gods... still at least you can tell which ones are boys and which are girls... (I saw a piece of Advent children a few days ago. Hence my wish to crush computer gen. anime).
But at least I was right on it being the old cartoon and not a new one...

To lay your fears to rest, Disney is only reairing the 1980's D&D cartoon produced by TSR and Marvel.

According to one episode, Venger is Dungeon Master's son and Wikipedia suggests he is a half-fiend. I'd also wager he would be a sorcerer if he were a 3.5 character. With Warduke making an appearance as a fully statted out bad guy in Dungeon Magazine and having his own mini now, I'm wondering if we can expect to see Venger resurrected in the same way.

Warduke was also in the action figure line (a bunch of the cartoon's NPCs were).

How overpowered are the magic items that they get and why is Dungeon Master a character?

because it would be really scary to have a voice talk to you and no body with it
