| Arman_Phillip02-21-06, 02:10 AM | Hey i'm trying to start a D&D version 1 campaign though i can't find the rules on the internet, does anyone know where i can find a version 1 dnd SRD? |
| Centauri02-21-06, 02:26 AM | There was never anything called "Version 1." There was Basic D&D, Advanced D&D, AD&D 2nd Edition, and probably some other versions. None of these rules were available for free, let alone on the Internet (since it wasn't around until late in the game). Versions 3 and 3.5 are the first to be available in SRD format. |
| Arman_Phillip02-21-06, 02:42 AM | Ah well i meant basic D&D but if it's not on the internet. Thanx anyway |
| Kheldren02-21-06, 03:31 AM | Actually there was D&D and D&D before Basic D&D (at least). None of the early versions are public domain, and the versions before the Basic/Advanced split are both rare and valuable to a collector. I think PDFs for the original AD&D books can be bought, but your best bet may be e-bay. As for Basic/Expert D&D searech for the "Rules Cyclopeadia" - it's the reprint of them and all in one place. For more information check out the D&D Out of Print (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=54) and Mystara (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=291) forums |

| Mouseferatu02-22-06, 12:17 AM | Do you think WotC could release a SRD of Basic/AD&D? Please. While I seriously doubt WotC will ever release an SRD of the older editions, you can get them in electronic PDF format if you're willing to spend a few bucks. Go to www.rpgnow.com. You can buy all sorts of PDFs there, including a whole bunch of old edition D&D material. |

I bought The Keep on the Borderlands and converted most of it over to 3.5. That was after my friend ran us through most of it under the Basic rules, which he also acquired on eBay. |
