| Androlphas09-17-06, 12:51 PM | Funny as heck, but not for the kiddies! :D |
| xox12209-17-06, 01:33 PM | lol thats a good one :D |
| Gorgosaure09-17-06, 06:30 PM | Incredible ! These guys rock. EDIT : Just a stupid question to the forum readers : Do you know players who have reached the 66th level ??? By the rules, is it possible ? 40 is the max, no ? |
| DarthCthulu09-17-06, 08:03 PM | Fabulous! |
| Board_Rider09-18-06, 12:00 AM | That DM is harsh! HOW could you fail anything with that going on? Also, something tells me that the BF mask grants more than good looks. How does a level 66 Fighter miss an unarmored 1st level rogue? |
| speeblefreak09-18-06, 12:19 AM | By the rules, is it possible ? 40 is the max, no ?Upper_Krust laughs at you from his throne made of demiliches. |
| Gorgosaure09-18-06, 05:58 AM | That DM is harsh! HOW could you fail anything with that going on? Also, something tells me that the BF mask grants more than good looks. How does a level 66 Fighter miss an unarmored 1st level rogue? An improved "improved evasion" that works against melee attacks and allow the rogue to redirect the damage on anything in a 5 feet radius ? Humm.. too powerful :D The BF mask is an artifact : no doubts ! |
| The White Sorcerer09-19-06, 10:22 AM | Ah! There are few things I cherish more than watching arrogant players who take their gaming too seriously receive their due punishment. :D |
| Nolwenn10-08-06, 07:32 PM | A sequel to "Battle at Farador" is planned for spring. :D |
| Haruspex10-08-06, 07:53 PM | "This is a serious game" :D I didn't know old school thieves had special thief vision to find magic items. Rogues in 3.5 should get that. |
| Sapp10-08-06, 08:10 PM | Haha! Perfect example of a bad game gone good. :D |
| edit1310-08-06, 08:26 PM | That was surprisingly entertaining, especially for an amateur video. Well done! Incidentally, what was the name of the song at the end, and, who was it by? |
| Nolwenn10-08-06, 08:55 PM | That was surprisingly entertaining, especially for an amateur video. Well done! Incidentally, what was the name of the song at the end, and, who was it by? It's D and D - Stephen Lynch I’ve got my twelve sided die and I’m ready to roll with a wizard and my goblin crew. My friends are comin’ over to my mom’s basement bringin’ funyuns and a mountain dew. {I got a big broad sword made out of cardboard and that stereo’s a-pumpin zeppelin. It’s that time of the night we turn on the black light let the dungeons and the dragons begin.} It’s D and D! Fighting with the legends of yore. It’s D and D! Never kissed lady before. {Nope!} Whoo! Now the Lord of the Rings, Dark Crystal and things. We use these as a reference tool. And when we put on our cloaks and tell warlock jokes we’re the coolest kids at the school… {No we’re not.} I know. Now Teich’s a real bastard but a fair dungeon master. He’s got hit points and charisma to lend. {And I rehearse in my room, or what I call the dragon’s tomb, when I’m not out with my girlfriend.} It’s D and D… wait… Sorry, You got a girlfriend? {Yeah. Yeah, I got a…no.} It’s D and D! Warriors that terrify. It’s D and D! Virgins ‘till the day we… 1,2,3,4! Die! |
| MagicMouth10-09-06, 04:50 AM | Upper_Krust laughs at you from his throne made of demiliches. That is totally worthy of a place in my sig. :D |
| Novacat10-09-06, 05:15 AM | By the rules, is it possible ? 40 is the max, no ? Yes. There is no max level. |
| MasterBlaster10-09-06, 09:11 AM | funny! but i found the song a little hurtful :weep: ah well... |
| ArcTan10-09-06, 02:47 PM | Incredible ! These guys rock. EDIT : Just a stupid question to the forum readers : Do you know players who have reached the 66th level ??? By the rules, is it possible ? 40 is the max, no ? They're playing "old school" AD&D 1e, which is before my time, but I know that Epic rules didn't exist back then. I gather that "Level 66" doesn't have the same connotations in AD&D that it would now -- such characters would keep on advancing on a linear scale (more attribute points, an extrapolated progression on the combat table that basically amounts to more BAB in modern terms, etc.) A 66-level character in AD&D would be linearly but not exponentially more powerful than a 20-level character as opposed to now, because there wasn't an enormous jump in power after level 20, because they didn't actually support power levels higher than level 20 (IIRC) and gaming groups that went that far just extrapolated by continuing to add to the numbers at the same rate. So the idea of a "level 66" character was not quite as insane as it'd sound to use young 'uns. That said, yes, there was something screwy going on with whatever dodge rules Boba Fett was using -- although even in AD&D I don't think you'd need a special ruling to say that a missed attack has a chance of hitting an ally in the same square. Anyone reminded of FATAL by the "save" that was rolled to see if the Paladin woke up? |
| SolkaTruesilver10-09-06, 03:34 PM | This was the fine example of Quebec's cultural expression. I just can't beleive it was filmed into my smallish hometown... Do you think Boba Fett will survive the encounter? What happens to a character when his player is killed? |
| Darkxarth10-09-06, 04:07 PM | How does a level 66 Fighter miss an unarmored 1st level rogue?Natural 1 Funny movie, though. I think it's hilarious that the Thief starts out in a Boba Fett mask and a loin cloth. :P |
| Sapp10-09-06, 04:16 PM | Back then, the amount of XP you needed to level past a certain point (around 12th level) was constant. It didn't matter whether you were level 15 or level 60, you'd just need to kill about 5 Pit Fiends, and you would level. Now, for Elminster to have gotten from level 34 to level 35, he would have to kill a few thousand Pit Fiends, simultaneously. |
| The White Sorcerer10-09-06, 04:55 PM | I think it's hilarious that the Thief starts out in a Boba Fett mask and a loin cloth. :P I liked that, too. It provides excellent contrast between Boba Fett and the über-characters. I have to wonder, though... Why wasn't Mordak called an archmage in the subtitles? |
| Vanigo10-09-06, 07:11 PM | And why didn't he have stoneskin running? Back then, stoneskin completely negated a few attacks, no matter how much damage they did. |
| Sapp10-09-06, 08:48 PM | My memory is fuzzy around this, but if I recall correctly, the Paladin class was disgustingly powerful back then (which is why they took forever to level, relative to other classes, and why 66th-level is impressive). I believe their Holy Avengers granted them an antimagic-like effect. That might have negated the stoneskin. |
| Nolwenn10-10-06, 04:19 PM | I have to wonder, though... Why wasn't Mordak called an archmage in the subtitles? This is a translation error. Archmage is more accurate than warlock. Especially when the french term to translate is archimage. :) My memory is fuzzy around this, but if I recall correctly, the Paladin class was disgustingly powerful back then (which is why they took forever to level, relative to other classes, and why 66th-level is impressive). I believe their Holy Avengers granted them an antimagic-like effect. That might have negated the stoneskin. Absolutely ! This kind of sword was awesome (however, the BF mask is better... ;) ). | ArcTan10-10-06, 07:38 PM | Natural 1 Funny movie, though. I think it's hilarious that the Thief starts out in a Boba Fett mask and a loin cloth. :P Yeah, I always said rolling for damage before rolling for attack was asking for a jinx... |
