under the dagger description it says 10ft. the point blank shot feat says from up to 30ft you get a +1 to your atk roll.
so do you take the penalties from throwing the dagger further and then add the +1 or what.

Exactly - if you have point blank shot, apply all the range penalties and add the +1 for the feat if you are within 30'.

Far shot will double your range on a thrown weapon - so you'll wanna grab that one.

That is how I would do it. Apply the bonus from PBS to help offset the range penalties a bit. After all, it DOES represent more specialized target training.
