I was wondering, would Damage Reduction/ Resistance be able to nullify pain?
As an example, if somebody has some gear that gives him 10 Elemental Resistance to Fire, and also has a DR of - /9 and gets shot by a bot of flaming( no critical, normal bolt with 1d8 fire damage, and thus no damage done) would the person feel any amount of pain?

The description of DR in the DMG makes it sound like creatures might feel pain from damage prevented. However, since creatures do not have to make Concentration checks to maintain concentration on a spell and such, it seems that they do not feel pain. Or not very much, anyways.

I think that there is not general rula about that... It depends on the creature and nature of DR...

If you wield a armor which gives DR, you would probably not feel it, but if your DR is more like your wounds close as a werewolf, you would feel it...

In champions of ruin, there is a ritual which grants a cleric of loviator resistance to pain, and the effect is dr2/-. I guess you could rule that you don't feel pain for damage prevented with dr.
